Some small clarifications. Jellal was never planning to lock up or kill Oracion Seis. That part’s honestly kinda confusing on a first watch. He was pushing them to bring out Brain and free themselves from him. When he talks about atoning, he always meant joining Crime Sorciere and doing good, not punishment. Even when he says Oracion Seis must die, he means the dark guild itself, not the members. His whole goal was to free them, because even though they were technically “free,” they weren’t really. Also, people used to joke that Jellal was the author’s favorite lol. Not sure how the community feels now, but it’s easy to see why. Dude’s kind of a monster. Paired with Erza who is a total baddy, insanely talented, and strong enough to solo a dark guild that made multiple guilds team up. For Elfman, he’s under a curse. Seilah basically uses his love for his family against him and forces him to do something he’d never choose to do. And with Cana, I always saw it as her just being blunt and kinda crass, which fits her. She’s also one of the older new generation members, so she knows them really well. It felt more like she could tell something was off with Elfman and was poking him like “where’s the usual manly Elfman.” And that’s also why she checked on him after.

What i really enjoy about this arc is how everyone gets a moment to shine even if they dont gt a big fight. I loved how Cana's magic was encorporated here and how we saw Levys intelligence. This arc gong#
