For a while now I’ve just assumed that the Witch’s powers came from Witch Factors. What exactly the Witch Factor is or where it comes from I don’t know but we’ve seen it can be transferred like One For All from My Hero Academia or Titan powers from AoT.

Subaru definitely has Petelgeuse’s Witch Factor and I think he has Greed’s as well. I think he either has Satella’s Witch Factor or a copy or extension of it (like maybe some Witch Factor powers can be shared with other people by their owners).

Of course the question is if Typhon got her power from a Witch Factor then when and how did she get the Witch Factor? Was she born with it and it was lying dormant?

Also I’m not sure how much direct control Typhon has over her power. Like the whole point is she isn’t passing judgment on people they are passing judgment on themselves and then the power punishes them. Typhon activates the power but I’m not sure she controls the judging or punishing aspects.

Another thing that should be taken into account is that Witch Factors seem to drive some people mad or at least drastically affect their personalities. We see that with Petelgeuse as well as with the Satella/Witch of Envy personalities.

I don’t think Subaru is Flugel although I’m not ruling out. One point against it is that Subaru doesn’t look like Flugel. Shaula identifies Subaru as her master by his smell. Subaru having the smell of the Witch is something that’s brought up multiple times in seasons 1 and 2. So we can guess that Flugel may have had one or more Witch Factors just like Subaru. We know that Flugel gave one Witch Factor to Petelgeuse for safekeeping. When Petelgeuse absorbed the Witch Factor in Emilia’s flashback he apologised to Flugel for doing so.

As far as the love triangle goes Subaru has stated that Emilia is number one and Rem is number two in his heart. He tried to ask Emilia for permission to romance both of them at the start of season two but she didn’t know who or what he was talking about.
