This guide just helps with the basics of painting solid areas in the slicer. I tend to leave my files all as one colour because I prefer to paint with acrylic paint pens for small details like eyes etc, (click here for more info on acrylic paint pens ). However, I appreciate that others may prefer to use filament and an AMS.

This guide just helps with the basics of painting solid areas in the slicer. I tend to leave my files all as one colour because I prefer to paint with acrylic paint pens for small details like eyes etc, (click here for more info on acrylic paint pens ). However, I appreciate that others may prefer to use filament and an Automatic Material System AMS.The way i set my models up is that I try to give users a choice, as we all have different preferences when it comes to printing. Some of you may use an AMS, allowing multi-colour printing, while others may prefer to print single colours and print in parts and assemble. I always provide an .3mf file with my models with the settings and set up to help users get started. Some of you may prefer to import the STL's into your preferred slicer. I use Bambu Studio, but hopefully, any useful information I post is transferable. I appreciate that there's a range of skill levels here, but figured it would be handy to start with the basics to help with troubleshooting, and just in case some people aren't aware or some of the tools in slicer. I'm also learning as I go myself, but I will update these guides if I find better ways or if there are software updates. So what I do is make sure that the areas others may wish to colour print, like eyes and mouth, are set up, making it easy to select them in the slicer. Here are some quick stages to make it easy to swap colours around. Tool Type - FILL1. Top panel select the paint pot "Colour Painting" 2. Select the colour choice; these are the same colours from the "Project Filaments" panel on the left. 3. Select the Fill Icon under "Tool Type" 4. Then click on the eyes and nose. 5. Then slice the plate. This will now show the number of colour changes on your print.

Tool Type - HEIGHT RANGE1. Top panel select the paint pot "Colour Painting" 2. Select the colour choice; these are the same colours from the "Project Filaments" panel on the left. 3. Select the Height Range Icon under "Tool Type" 4. Adjust the Slider to set how wide you want to fill; mine is set to 3mm5. Then click on the area you want to paint a different colour; it will slice through the layers horizontally with that new colour change. 6. Slice the plate. This will now show the number of colour changes on your print. Only 1 change in this example.

Glad you like using pens, I do too!! Feel free to leave any recommendations for pens that you love. I've only tried 1 brand and been really happy with those so far, but looking try more if these run out and i cant get them again.
