Doc Who S7 Ep 14 WATCHALONG

Comments

Colin Bayley

You need to watch Night Of The Doctor next for more clarification. John Hurt is the Doctor who fought in the Time War.

Colin Bayley

Peter Cushings 1960s Dalek movies are not cannon and where adaptions of tv stories.

Jason Jeffery

Were here boys and gals. lets goo

Adinium

Peter Cushing was not a doctor in classic who. He played a human scientist called "Dr. Who" in a non-canon movie called "Dr Who and the Daleks" which has never been a part of the established TV continuity.

Rico

Finally the 3 eps I wanted yall to see out of this whole second part enjoy the ride

DeathSwitch

I think you're thinking of Radagast from the Hobbit movies, who is played by 7th Doctor, Sylvester McCoy. So you aren't far off by saying Christopher Lee... Wrong wizard 😅

Colin Bayley

Is it? Really? It is revealed very matter of fact in Night..... He pretty much says who he is in Name.... They just didn't pick up on it because of everything else that happened that was closer to their mindset. I understood what was going on my first view. They miss quite a bit because their knowledge is only of New Who. This is their first real step into the expanded world of the show so I think a little help up minor steps doesn't hurt.

Rico

John hurt playing the doctor from the time war before he regenerated into 9 Christopher Eccleston as he didn't wanna return due to some behind the scenes drama

Martin

Everyone is thrown by the John Hurt I wouldn't worry about it lol I saw it live at the time and I was bamboozled! Glad you liked it as a whole though it's a really good episode I feel.

DeathSwitch

Yes of course it is? They clearly didn't know who he is on first view, and idk how they were supposed to know. The time War wasnt mentioned at all during this episode. Why reveal something like that in a comment when they clearly haven't seen Night yet? I'd understand if you were telling them this after they'd seen Night but all they've been told is he's a secret and someone who broke a promise but that could mean anything. The Time War is only in New Who... Clearly a spoiler if the very next thing they watch explains who he is and you're just like "oh let me just tell them now because I worked it out first time so they should know now too"

Colin Bayley

They speculated about JH being from classic era so classic era did have a effect on their reasoning. I suppose you think them going on about that should have continued. GI was after the Doctors dark secret for which JH was the only candidate. JH spoke only in the past tense so it was something from the past he was talking about. The Doc may have mentioned the time war a couple of times in previous episodes I think. Its the only thing we have sketchy information about. By his manner it was something he was distraught about. Destroying Galifrey and the Daleks in one go may be the cause of that. MS was ashamed by whatever JH had done. Even though it was himself. Not every little piddling detail is a spoiler and of major importance. I've seen much worse in these comments without you as head of the spoiler police shoving your ore in. Why haven't you jumped on them? I would keep clear of the youtube comments it may cause a brain injury. Now leave me alone you twonk.

DeathSwitch

You go ahead and spoil whatever you like mate, I only said that they haven't been told about Who John Hurt actually is yet and you blow up like I've insulted your grandparents, you clearly love that you spoiled them and hate getting called out, so I'll just let you do your thing 🤣

Alan V

Don't stress, you won't work it out unless you've read everything ever written about the Doctor. You don't need to over-think it. Enjoy the enigma while it lasts! Just strap in and enjoy the ride...

Surely things like this would get you in to classic who so much lore your missing out on
