Doctor Who The Movie WATCHALONG

I heard this movie is a bit naff and maybe almost worst like The Star Wars Christmas Special in many ways… But it does somewhat have a cult following mainly Paul Mgcan playing as the Doctor

It is certainly a guilty pleasure, but I love this movie as a sort of 'what if' for where Doctor Who could have gone. McGann - alongside Capaldi, Tom Baker, and maybe Tennant - is one of the few actors able to really channel that pure archetypal feel of The Doctor as a character. It's a bit of a 'Henry Cavill as Superman' situation: right actor, wrong time. I mean: who thought it was a good idea to make a soft reboot pilot a regeneration story *and* a Master story? I imagine that if McGann had gotten the same level of writing here as he got a few years later in the radio plays: he'd be a Doctor Who posterboy like Tom Baker or David Tennant.

For all its faults it did keep the flame alive.
