I’m in no way trying to justify the creepiness and as I’ve gotten older I’ve been able to realize and acknowledge the creepy age gap lol but from the Twilight lore that we know about it seems that usually a person stays within the same mindset they had as a human when they turn into a vampire. I mean its not 100% correct but its something along those lines, like they can grow and mature as the years go by but in their mind they’ll always be whatever age they ended their human life in. For example.. its mentioned later on (so its kinda spoiler ish) that vampires aren’t allowed to turn babies/toddlers or very young children because they aren’t at an age where they can control their actions and emotions as well as teens and adults are able to. For example.. if a vampire toddler has a tantrum it could be disastrous depending on how out of control they are. So its supposed to be like he knows that age wise he’s too old for her but it feels right because he’s forever frozen in his young human age. Also the Volturi are all very strong in their own ways and its not very easy to fight against them not only due to the fact that they’re the vampire ruling coven but also because they only recruit the most gifted people.. And idk if yall noticed but Aro (the leader who did all the talking) is obsessed with Alice because she can see the future and he doesn’t have anyone on his team who can do that, but he’s also a little obsessed/fascinated by the fact that Bella isn’t affected at all by any of these gifted vampires. So with that being said, from here on out the Volturi is kinda the main problem for the remaining movies.
