I really like this episode, a good horror show! And Jodie showing her range in this, some very funny bits and then the anger...my word! I also appreciate how this era tries new ways to bring back the classics, how they brought back the Dalek in that Christmas episode, the Master reveal and this Cyberman introduction as well.

This was a much better episode than the previous episode. Probably the strongest episode since Fugitive and sadly the last strong one for me in this series. Nice bit of gothic horror along with some fun moments with The Doctor, Byron and Polodori. But also some nice levity moments with the cast. The Lone Cybermen felt genuinely threatening and had a nice ominous presence. The fact that he killed both the maid and Fletcher made him even more of a threat. The confrontation with The Doctor was good and the fact that she told everyone to not follow her as the wounds with Bill are still felt when she said "I will not lose anyone else to that" The scene with the Shelly reveal and dilemma of The Doctor having to ignore Jack's warning and give what the cyberman wanted was quite compelling. The way The Doctor snapped at Ryan was very surprising. I liked it but I wish Ryan had argued back as its so rare for this team to not argue with each other and there was a bit of missed opportunity here with them being silent during The Doctor's crashout. Nevertheless, the scenes were still effective, especially with Mary even trying to appeal to Ashad's better nature. The ending with Bryon's narration of "She was the universe" was the perfect way to close the episode too.
