Rakkai said that Tom Cruise has never been nominated for an Oscar the deal behind Tom Cruise is not that he has never been nominated it is that he has never won an Oscar except for an honorary Oscar he got recently. He has actually been nominated 3 times for acting at the Academy Awards: Born on the Fourth of July, Jerry Maguire, and Magnolia.

If you want to watch an underrated Tom Cruise film checkout his NASCAR film, Days of Thunder. Not only does Tom Cruise in the film, but he has a story credit on this film as well. Also, this film was directed by Tony Scott as well, and has a great score from Hans Zimmer. Great cast as well: Tom Cruise, Robert DuVall, Nicole Kidman, Michael Rooker, Randy Quaid, John C. Riley, and Cary Elwes. Also, this film is a practical effects masterpiece piece. They didn’t rely on CGI very much at all in this film. If there high intense action or crashes, they were either racing or wrecking those cars. Also, this was the late great NASCAR Legend Kyle Busch’s favorite film. So much so that his nickname “Rowdy” comes from one of the characters in this film. NASCAR losing Kyle now is like losing NASCAR’s Kobe Bryant if you compare it to the NBA. Both were child prodigy’s in their sport, both were embraced being the bad guy till they had kids and matured them a bit, both hated to lose, both were champions in their sport, both were talented and successful businessmen, both helped with certain causes that were close to their hearts, and both died at the same age 41.
