Logan is going to emotionally break you, FYI. Not just one of the best superhero movies, but one of my favorite movies ever

Kwanjay Fortes

Yessirski ! Been waiting on this one

Ben Martin

The super-speed character Peter in this movie is actually the same as Scarlet Witch’s brother who died in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Due to convoluted character rights at the time, both studios (Fox and Marvel) were able to use their own versions the character, portrayed by different actors, even though the universes were not connected at the time this came out.

Shaynge

They are also both Magneto’s kids in most comic book story lines so the comment of Peter’s saying his mom dated someone who could control metal was a nod to that. Also, they used the same actor as Wanda’s “brother” in WandaVision and that was a nod to this

Thomas McGlinchey

He was the one who played her brother in the WandaVision show, not Ultron… lol

Thomas McGlinchey

Hey Amber, We gotta get you into some graphic novel movies, that are dark and twisted (in good and bad ways)… some of the ones to start with are: V for Vendetta Sin City (1 & 2) Snowpiercer (starring Chris Evans) and prequel TV series… Scott Pilgrim (ft. Chris Evans) Road to Perdition Watchmen I would recommend starting with V for Vendetta, if you haven’t seen that…

Ben Martin

Yes but the characters in AoU and the X-Men movies is the same one from the comics, just portrayed by different actors. That was the point I was trying to make 😁 The fact that Evan Peters was in Wanda Vision was a nod to this convoluted scenario

Shaynge

Love that you picked the Rogue edit!!!!!

Shaynge

Anna Paquin (Sookie from True Blood) is still playing Rogue in this movie

Charles Allen

My favorite X-Men film, not including Logan

John

I just rewatched this last week. It's one of my favorite x men movies. I had no idea that there was a rogue edit. I've never saw this version. So cool.

Drew Bolyard

Please watch the one season of Moon Knight for ancient to current Egyptian lore and myth... not to mention, the performance(s) by Oscar Isaac were excellent.

Hey Rockstar, if you want my advice, save your time with any other X-Men movie after DoFP, man. X-Men-Apocalpyse - Dumpster Fire Bomb Dark Phoenix - Dumpster Fire Bomb New Mutants - Dumpster Fire Bomb I'm just trying to save ya 6 hours you'll never get back is all. Terrible cinema about a legendary team of Marvel heroes. But at least you have Logan to look since you already reacted to DP2. After that... on to Deadpool & Wolverine! Dueces, Rockstar SGT Rock

I read this as a young adult in The Uncanny X-Men issues #141–142, published in 1981. It deals with a dystopian future in which mutants are incarcerated in internment camps and they try to change the past to create a new future. In the comic, it was Kitty Pryde that time slipped to the past, but they changed it a bit and sent Logan instead. The metal man is Colossus (Piotr Rasputin). We'll see his little sister Illyana Rasputin (Magik) in the movie The New Mutants. When they went to get Peter, the mother told the little princess to go bug her sister. Peter's twin sister is Wanda Maximoff (Scarlett Witch). Peter Maximoff was played by a different actor in Avengers: Age of Ultron. In Wandavision, when this Peter appears, Darcy comments "They recast Peter". You are right Amber. Magneto's distrust of humans played out in the future we saw at the beginning. Humans attempting to exterminate all mutants. The man Logan saw Striker, from X-Men 2 that gave him his adamantium skeleton. Remaining X-Men movies are X-Men: Apocalypse, Logan, Dark Phoenix and then The New Mutants.

9:00 When Kate said "Too late, assholes" and disappeared, it was because her message had gotten through to the past, erasing the mini-timeline we just watched. This scene (well, the whole movie, really) was not-as-expected for longtime X-Men comics fans because Kitty Pryde doesn't have those kids of mental powers anywhere outside of this one movie and in the comics, she's the one who got sent back into her younger self. Very cool alternate take, though. 1:01:30 C'mon, Prof X would never cheat at chess using his powers! 1:42:00 "She was like a fairy." That was Angel. And speaking of fairies, how did you not recognize Rogue? That's Sookie. In the second post-credit scene the crowd is chanting the name "En Sabah Nur", a mutant also called Apocalypse. His "Four Horsemen" were seen in the background. You'll find out about them in X-Men: Apocalypse.

SGT Rock's Headbangers Ball

Heh, Snowpiercer, the one thing I took from that was the gunfight. It was an okay movie, nothing to write home about. Thom, I'm a gun guy, man. And that gunfight? Oh, I laughed like a tickled hyena through that whole thing. I've never seen anything so pathetically done.

TheRealJayron

So we getting X-Men-Apocalpyse and Dark Phoenix before we go to logan (please) ❓

Slothlyke

Its so nice to see Sookie come in to help the XMen again, even if she had to go a little Rogue, as she usually does. Really interested in seeing Ambers reaction to the Speedsters family tree 😀

Slothlyke

Yeah I hadnt seen this yet, was positively surprised, thank you Amber

Slothlyke

I made a dad joke out of this XD

Bishop, Blink, Sunspot, and Warpath aren’t official members of the X-Men. They’re actually a group of displaced mutants who don’t have a lot of hope for the future, but they decided to turn to the X-Men in a final attempt to save the world. The way time travel works is almost akin to other depictions such as Terminator and Back To The Future. It’s worth remembering that this was before Endgame when they depicted a form of time travel close as to how it would actually work if it existed. By the way, the quote that future Charles tells his younger self is the same thing his variant from dimension 838 says to Doctor Strange. We should also remember that Rogue took the vaccine that supposedly got rid of the mutant gene. It worked for a while, but Magneto was shot up with four doses of that stuff and he still got his powers back at the end of The Last Stand. He was able to move a chess piece without having to touch it because it was embedded with metal. Magneto is a class four mutant, and he was too powerful for the effects of the vaccine. They never confirmed what Rogue’s class level was, but given how they both got their powers back I assume she also has to be level four. The Rogue Cut gives about 17 minutes of additional content. Some of the previously cut footage included the following: 1.) John Proudstar/Warpath reciting a prayer for mutants and human allies who had their lives taken by the sentinels 2.) Bishop having more lines and expressing his concern over the consequences of creating a new timeline 3.) Logan meeting Peter’s younger sister *Before I continue, I wanna acknowledge two things. First, at the time this movie was made, Disney and Fox were still in the middle of their whole dispute over which characters they could legally use and how. As a result, we have two live-action incarnations of Quicksilver. We have Pietro in the MCU, but this version was named Peter. Second, it’s presumed that the other sister that her mom mentions was Wanda. However, one other possibility is that the other sister might have been another character named Lorna Dane. She’s had several codenames in the comics, but her most common one is Polaris. Some incarnations of her are written as one of Magneto’s children along with Wanda and Pietro. Much like her father, Lorna also has the power of magnetism. 4.) Nixon dropping an F-bomb 5.) Bobby suggesting that Rogue can take over for Kitty/Shadowcat 6.) Hank asking Logan about the future and answering the door to Raven 7.) Bobby rescuing Rogue with help from Magneto and sacrificing himself after entrusting him with getting her to safety 8.) Raven destroying Cerebro 9) Rogue taking Shadowcat’s place and Logan sensing her presence the next morning 10.) A sentinel arm shown as a tracking beacon for the carriers 11.) Young Charles meets a US Army veteran who tells him he was in a wheelchair after encountering a Bouncing Betty which is another term for S-Mine 12.) The post-credit scene with Trask in Magneto’s former concrete cell

SGT Rock's Headbangers Ball

What plot? What...plot? They don't lead into Logan at all. They're filler movies. If you're gonna toss a thumbs down, defend your point. I'll wait!

MovieMan_J

This edit is a more complete story than the theatrical version. It always felt empty without Rogue.

Mister Lou

Rogue Cut! I am so happy you did this version! Its not Canon but my favorite version! They didn't just edite Rogue in 1 scene, it was a completely revised story.

Joe toth

Jennifer Lawrence as Ravyn/Mystique is definitely worth checking out in her Oscar winning role "Silver Linings Playbook"

Shaynge

I want to hear it!!!

Chris Orlando

How do we know Amber isn't Mystique this whole time!?

Slothlyke

Nice of Sookie to help the XMen by going rogue again.

Joey Tovar

Love that you picked the Rogue cut! This is by far the best X-Men film!
