Hey there! I'd be interested to see the first volume of Battle Angel Alita added to the next poll for the book club.

great vid! +1 to your comments at the end about the purpose of the book club, i like reading things i wouldn’t normally read for all the reasons you said. fwiw i’d definitely watch a video from you comparing different arcs of jjba. i wasnt a fan of vol 1 but i like hearing your analysis.

this has been on my to-read list for some time! I might not even vote for my own selection.

I agree with Del the Funky Witch and agree with your comments at the end about the book club and I too would watch a video about JJBA if you made one, I like hearing about it. Who knows maybe you'll change my mind and I'll try more and even if you don't I'm sure it'll be an enjoyable watch. I left my comment for The Mask video on the 19th June post. So here I'll just reiterate my suggestion for the poll: Rogue Trooper by Gerry Finlay Day and Dave "Watchmen" Gibbons, one of the cornerstones and classic strips from long running British anthology 2000AD (alongside Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Slaine etc.). It also just received a movie adaptation directed by Duncan Jones. ("Rogue Trooper: The Complete Collection - Book 1" or if you want a shorter read "Essential Rogue Trooper: Genetic Infantryman", which has half of the Complete Book 1)

oh and I think you were right about Dio, he was so over the top it lost me as a result. Like I was so done with it and felt that it it was so played out that even when he killed the dog my reaction was "ah... of course you killed the dog by baking it alive. my aren't we just sooooo evil and rolled my eyes." and I LOVE dogs, it should have got a reaction other than finding it tiresome. The reason I found JJBA's version of Victorian London so bananas was because it all felt so unreal and surreal. The Unreal: The architecture was weirdly uniform when I feel like London even then was a mish mash of styles. It's been a city for hundreds and hundreds of years, the new constantly being built on and around the old (look up London's subterranean rivers that were little built over, but once upon a time saw sunlight). Also, it's quite common in comics for me to look at something set in London or the UK and just go "wow someone's clearly never been there", it looks like someone has seen a few photo references of what the streets generally look like in one city and drawn from that, and got it largely wrong or just been lazy (Do not even get me started on how this problem is much worse when things are set in Scotland haha). The Surreal: The manga street gang characters... just... what parallel universe version of Streets of Rage set in Victorian London did they the escape from? and where can I find it to play it so I can face them as the end of level Bosses. Bananas. Absolute bananas.

In my opinion, the final battle of part 3 is the best out of any part, and part 4 onwards gets consistently interesting.

S. J. Ryker

Phantom Blood is my favorite JoJo.

I would love to see look back by tatsuki fujimoto covered in this book club format because I would like to hear your opinion on it

I hope you’re able to get through Stardust Crusaders at some point because I’m sure the next JoJo part, Diamond is Unbreakable, will be more towards your liking. I’ve heard about the Mask comic and how different it is to the moist and I hope I can have the time to read it before the post. And again I recommend Erma the webcomic series for the next poll.

With Powers by Bendis & Oeming coming back under Dark Horse, it could be interesting to read the original volume back when it was part of Image. I'll be picking up both at the same time.

Great video would love to see you do more manga content
