Hi everyone!

Today we have a bit of a smaller release, but something we're still very excited about - AltServer 1.8b includes our new 'altsource' CLI tool to easily generate your own AltStore sources from your apps' .ipa files. This tool is located in AltServer's app bundle, so you can run it from Terminal like so:

/Applications/AltServer.app/Contents/MacOS/altsource new --ipa delta.ipa

The tool will automatically create a JSON file for your source and populate it with information from your app's .ipa file. In addition to generating new sources, you can also use this tool to update existing sources with new apps or app versions.

For more details,  we've updated the FAQ with detailed instructions, including all the different available commands along with some examples. If you have any questions about using the tool or run into issues, please reach out to us!

Best,

Riley + Shane

I'm trying to install AltStore beta onto my new iPhone. Using latest AltServer beta. Can't get it to work. Error Description AltStore could not be downloaded. The file doesn’t exist. Failure AltStore could not be downloaded. Failure Reason The file doesn’t exist. Title AltStore could not be installed onto Austin's iPhone. NSURL file:///var/folders/cv/txqwbj5s2t73py2sdxtrkkzh0000gn/T/CFNetworkDownload_7KngZj.tmp Update: just going with regular altserver. Not sure why I was doing the beta anyways. It's a bit buggy.
