A Little Change is Coming 🎬 (Patreon)

Quick summary
animations are becoming the main thing. fewer posts per week, with more quality, more effort in the right places, and more of what i actually want to be making. goal is 1 animation per week + an artwork here and there when i have the time.
In Detail
I. My goal was always animations
if you've been here for a while you know i can't stay still, i always need to be learning, evolving, pushing further. and for a long time my plan was to shift toward animations once i wasn't so dependent on commissions. but i honestly can't wait that long anymore.
i got an animation course a while ago and i haven't been able to actually study it, and that's been eating at me. animations are where i want to go, where i want to grow, and what i think makes the most interesting content for you guys. that's the goal. everything else needs to fit around that, not the other way around.
II. The problem with how things are right now
a single artwork takes me 3 to 6 hours of 100% focus. my whole day ends up being: eat, make artwork until mid evening, pick up a commission, work until nighttime.
that's a lot of time and mental energy going into static pieces, and by the time i'm done there's no energy left for studying or working on bigger projects. animations keep getting pushed to "when i have time", and that time never comes.
i've also been feeling unproductive for months, even on days where i'm clearly working a lot. i finally figured out why: i keep comparing myself to other 3D artists, seeing "200 alt versions, multiple characters, every angle" and thinking i'm not doing enough. but those artists spend a week or more on a single project. most of them don't do commissions. and i was looking at that and going "okay let's do all of that, but three times a week, with commissions too". no wonder i've been burning out...
that's also why the Witcher project is paused right now, just so you know.
III. What changes
animations are the priority now. artworks happen when there's space for them, mostly collabs with other creators.
the general plan is a WIP post followed by the animation release, but i'm keeping the days flexible, if an animation ends up taking longer than expected i'm not going to rush it, and if i finish early and still have a couple days left in the week i'll use that time for static pieces.
speaking of which, i'll also swap an animation week for an artwork batch sometimes. like instead of spending the whole week on a new animation, i might dedicate it to a scene with multiple artworks, the Witcher project being the main example. i really want to finish that one and this format is actually perfect for it, same scene, multiple poses, lots of alt versions. that kind of thing.
one more thing: i'm going to hold myself to keeping animations manageable while i'm still finding my footing. i have a lot of ideas and i know myself, i'll want to go crazy and make something super complex right away, but i'm actively trying not to do that. cleaner loops first, more depth and complexity as i actually get better. one step at a time.
1 animation and 2 commissions per week is the baseline. everything else builds from there
IV. Why this matters
i don't want to be one of those artists who just disappears one day and nobody knows what happened. some days i genuinely don't want to open blender at all, and that scares me. this change is me trying to get ahead of that, to actually enjoy what i'm making again, to study the things i've been putting off, and to build toward something.
thank you for being here through all of it 🖤
