Turns out GS is a story of authority figures not listening. Not something I planned, but it keeps happening.

They should have listened to Antaras.

Despite everything, and all the precautions, Andy just keeps ending up being bullied when something good happens. It wasn't his fault and yet he's going to blame himself 😭

IrisBdz

oh my karuna listen to the man, this is not his insane era he's making sense

Jalohauki

I love always when there's a lot of dialogue between characters on the page! Instant love in the reindeer lady (tho why dialogue heavy pages are always smaller...? Lemme appreciate details man!)

rattGS

If the pages are smaller than usual, it means I've accidentally uploaded the one meant for public posting. Always feel free to notify me of that. Fixed this one

Robo87

Whelp we know who was first on Antaras’ mercy list

Terror

Peepers.. Huh. I now have a mental image of everyone carrying a Peeps marshmallow on their back rather than their bird halves lmao

Jalohauki

Ah that makes sense. Thank you for answering, I was always afraid before that it would come off as rude!

I remember how Helevise spoke that Antaras did “ruthless” things to trap Loss… I wonder how many of the deer in this group will die because of the incoming storm, or if they will fall victim to Antaras’ desperation.

Kwelve

WHY SHE DOESN'T LISTEN TO HIM!!?? HFSBJFDBG I truly though God-callers were the most important and authority figures of this universe lore

Kwelve

Not justifying him but if I lost my beautiful wife and family because they didn't listen to me, I'll go feral too HAHAHAHAHA

rattGS

On page 315 it's said that religion has no weight in the North, so to them Antaras is just some priest who nobody has any obligation to listen to. Imagine going to a road trip with a bunch of strangers and one of them is a person of the cloth who tells you the sky looks wrong and the trip should end here! I wouldn't give them much thought either. Also Helevise has stated that religion is feather-light in the current generations. Many view god-callers as frauds. It's logical for these deer not to believe Antaras.

AdventureLemon

Understandable, I find it very interesting (and really, really sad) how grief can drive one to do the unimaginable, causing more grief in the process. What I love about these characters is how real they feel, and their faults and virtues influence their decisions; we can understand Antaras’ desire to save one segment of Oudia that’s left in this world (their unborn fawn ALTHOUGH Usma represents that just as much but he doesn’t see that), but be angry with him for directly causing stillbirths everywhere else.

Repeating cycles is never a good thing

Kwelve

Oooh I see, thanks for the correction!

Rutaceae

I don’t think this boss is gonna be around much longer

doeful

This is so fun because the framing of this makes the reader go YOU FOOL HOW COULD YOU NOT LISTEN TO HIM??? While EVERYTHING in the narrative itself that these characters are in gives reasons to not listen to him at all!! I love that feeling of being pulled in two by the actual story and the distance the reader has from the story itself

Silfnix

I’m only now wondering.. what happened last time Andy saw the moon gleam??
