There's A LOT to unpack with this page which I'm personally going to leave to the other readers. But one thing I want to touch upon, and something that most people haven't brought up, which is I wonder how this experience will affect her relationship with Boneslav who is pretty much a wolf/deer hybrid and someone that she's now actively travelling with and thus will constantly be in the same presence of in the current day. Usma has had two extremely traumatic encounters with wolves so I wonder if that trauma will bleed over to how she interacts with him.

I think Ratt confirmed somewhere that Stonekrovns don't actually have any wolf in them, their design just resemble them. But of course, simply reminding her of a wolf can be enough to trigger Usma's trauma and it'll be interesting to see their interactions like you said. Maybe Bones could actually help her overcome it in time.

Yo just now I notice Ame's antler lying further away from her... Sorry for bieng like this but this page came out on 9/11 were deer jumped to their death to escape a more painfull one just like those poor people in the office buildings. :(

Considering Runi also has a slight fear of Boneslav due to his herd attacking her group when they first encountered each other, I wonder if that's a topic she'll use to bond with Usma over (if, again, the sight of Boneslav does cause her distress). Recent developments have made me really excited to see how Usma will integrate with the main group. It's just a shame we have to watch Usma experience some of the worst trauma a young doe could ever be subjected to to get there...

Holy shit. He had the deer killed to eat the halv skulls. That's amazing, and now it's clear that Iralee doesn't just eat the skulls for kicks. It tells me she probably has a real power, even if it's weaker than Antaras' after he gorged himself on skulls still covered in feathers and flesh and dripping blood.

Antaras leading the wolves to the march felt symbolically cannibalistic…a stag leading his natural enemies to feast on his own kind….now him eating the halv skulls, muzzle literally dripping in gore of the deer he forced to o their death…just holy shit

It's a particular kind of cruelty, knowing how Oudia found Usma, to rip open that wound in his desperation to bring her / his unborn child back. Bad Antaras, very bad. But I guess grief can make monsters of us all.
