Iralee actually calling Helevise mother is either a clever manipulation tactic, or a part of her still cares. I imagine she stopped calling her that a long time ago.

So has Helevise already lived longer than she should, hence her comment at the end there?

Spiritstrike

So that explains it, she does want to die but can't because of Loss.

I'll live on the optimistic side and believe that Iralee calling her "mother" was just bc she still cares a little! I think it'd make some amount of sense, the number of things she's picked up from Helevise, even if they really aren't on good terms anymore. Also I'm not sure if I'm picking it up correctly, but I feel like there are heavy implications that War is expected to, as name states, bring mass death through battle/conflict, whereas Loss may just end her for confronting him like this. Hence Iralee's comment

I dont think its that she wants to die per se- she seemed okay with the idea of living forever, but now that Iralee reveals that war /is/ potentially coming for them, she has to accept she will die one way or another. She's like, hey, you if i do what youre asking me to do ill literally die right? And now has a choice to make-give up her grand plans and go out quietly, or be ripped asunder if she doesn't. She might be trying to make peace with that inevitability again...in a disgruntled sort of way

I imagine by the time this is resolved there will already be a lot of old deer that were supposed to have passed on in the months? That the gods have been on earth. I think once they are are returned to the sky there will be a mass dying of these elderly deer, and Helevise knows she will be among them. Iralee knows this must be true as well, but it's gotta be better than what War will do if he can be convinced to intervene!

Let's see... Antaras is a necromancer, couldn't bear living without his sweetheart (or their offspring) and got into a deadly deal. Now Eve is locked in a body that should have been dead, only to keep the child alive. And Helevise knows more that she should. And so does Usma.. probably... And I might have missed it but I don't recall halvs with Antaras and Eve. Something about child-bearing and god-calling :)
