I guess this is the moment it's confirmed that they're indeed family, and because of their age difference, safe to say Antaras is Usma's father and she his daughter! Stating this clearly here because throughout the comic I've seen people throw around that maybe they're dating, and I'd hate if it became some kind of canon in the comment sections like some other little misunderstandments I've had to weed out multiple times. In human years Usma would be in her 20s, Antaras in 45-50s. Some kids just call their parents by their name!

Wait, people thought Usma/Antaras were dating 0.o I always assumed they were either father/daughter (now confirmed) or siblings with a major age gap. As for a character, I can't tell if Antaras is the "sympathetic old man with honest intentions that's too broken to realise his own mistakes" or "gaslighter who's only putting on a sympathetic facade to lure the emotionally vulnerable to his side" because of how he's acted in previous chapters (very hostile to Eve and the old doe (sorry her name is escaping atm!) but always gentle to Usma). I think that's why he's my favourite non-main character, so many layers to unwrap with this mysterious old stag!

I wonder if it'd help to have some kind of dialogue to push readers away from thinking they're dating? The thought definitely crossed my mind until you clarified in the description, but many people (especially after a few more pages are out and this is no longer the most recent,) don't read the description ): Maybe if Antaras were to say he's proud of Usma, like a father would say, for "staying level-headed"? Although maybe it's not a huge worry either way lol

It honestly never came to my mind that anyone would think they're romantically involved so I never felt the need to underline it in the comic. There will be scenes where their relationship is confirmed crystal clear though!

Ah yeah, Prue and Gitta never knew Usma was his daughter! It was kind of 'teacher's pet' kind of comment.

I always thought they were siblings! Particularly where they have a huge age gap and then their parents are long gone so he also has to act as a father figure of sorts.

aaaah so even more credence to the idea that eve is possessing the dead body of antaras's mate/usma's mother. i have to wonder if that's why loss is sealed in a ring- to prevent them from taking anything else away from him?
