Ugh I still hate that I supported her so much back before she was exposed. I never believed what she was saying about Emily artful but I fully supported her videos. I always watched them and I believed she was a sweet woman because of her constant superchats etc (that's actually how I heard of her was seeing her superchat another commentary channel) im glad I didn't actually give her any money (i only didn't cuz I couldn't afford to) but it makes me feel bad that I supported her. I was about to say - lolcow and kiwifarms are like next level depravity. Actively encouraging doxxing, violence, the whole nine yards of absolutely abhorrent stuff. Reddit is bad but can’t hold a candle to the level of filth that comes out of those places.

opposite, really. when i tried to play it as a youtube video embedded in the patreon app, youtube kept telling me i needed to sign in to make sure i wasn't a bot (guessing it didn't like my vpn lol). going to patreon in my computer browser and opening the ep in youtube so i could add it to a playlist to watch not in the patreon app was more helpful.

it varies so much because reddit is basically Create Your Own Community, so there's amazing communities and horrible ones. but sounds like lolcow/kiwifarms is nothing but a bad community so def nothing like reddit which has great communities in addition to the bad ones.

It has corners, for sure, but they dont thrive and/or are constantly ban evading. They are also small and few and far between, which is why I've never understood the reputation reddit gets. It has pockets upon pockets of different kinds of people and communities- long nail people, snail people, rat people, cat people, rainbow loving people, Uber drivers, Uber riders, etc etc Snarking is nothing close to what the weirdos on kiwifarms and lolcow say. Kf and LC are meant to be the dark corner of dark corners

It’s the way in which he has a seemingly genuine disgust reaction to violence and abuse and the excuses people make when they try to defend themselves after they’ve been caught. I don’t claim to know they guy, it would just be an awful and sickening thing to learn that he’s done these things and then gone on to essentially explain how thoroughly he knows that his own actions were wrong. That’s what I mean by shocking.

She was married to Ross O’Donovan (AKA RubberRoss, an Australian gaming YouTuber and Twitch streamer who was connected to the Game Grumps channel as an editor. The GG connection would make sense as Shannon made a video on one of the founding members, Arin Hanson’s stalker?). TLDR of it all is that Holly cheated on Ross with ProJared (also a gaming YouTuber and streamer) which ended their marriage. And also meant that Jared cheated on his wife as well. Which all happened in like 2018. I’m just curious if that was referencing lol

WAIT. WHAT?! How I didn’t know dreading is Shannon’s husband?! I used to watched his videos lol. I can’t believe I fell for it TWICE (I used to watch Shannon’s videos too, until I realized how many curse words she was saying per minute and how heated she got every time; it felt sus to me). I stopped watching it because there were MANY signs that this guy was a misogynist. Specially for the way he would talk about women (both as victims and perpetrators) and how much grace he would give to men. He also hyperfixated with two cases where women killed their (allegedly) abusive partners. He even had to disable the comments because people were catching up on his behavior. WOW. I’m speechless. Also, most of his latest content is just him giving a 5 minute commentary with 4-5 hours of court footage with zero editing. I’m not kidding or exaggerating about the length of those videos.

Little correction girlies: In Emily‘s r-word accusation against CSA‘s husband she made a strong point of saying that he was completely sober while she was very high on H. Looking down on Emily because of her addiction and mocking her for it was a huge part of the hatred that they have send her way. For some strange reason her ex boyfriend (Shannon‘s husband) reacted extremely angry and hateful towards people who do drugs (like to a point that goes way beyond just being against drugs or being worried about someone who does them) and it is important that he was completely sober when the alleged SA happened because that’s why there was a power imbalance and why he could take advantage of her. They also weren’t a couple anymore when this took place (important because he can’t even claim that they were together and that he thought that he had consent or that they used to regularly hook up while she was high at the time).

ophie dokie on youtube has a really good video that covers how messed up swoop's content actually is. it's a little long and meandering but i like that style because i spend most of the day listening to stuff so the longer the better. ophie does a great job laying it all out in a way that will really put words to the weird feelings people have about swoop.

It sucks to think they're still making tons of money off YouTube and probably doing well in that sense.
