In today's episode, the girlies discuss two creators who didn't get quite the reaction they were expecting from their videos. First, we have the creator who filmed herself in a group pilates class, which led to the girl next to her to understandably get up and move so she wouldn't be in the shot. Rather than realize she should have asked before recording, the girl filming instead it was a good idea to post the interaction, including the part where she dramatically rolls her eyes as the other girl walked away. Next, we react to a since deleted storytime in which a TikToker recounts her experience of flying across the country to go to a concert with a man she had previously gone on a date with. And despite the initial date going well, she felt compelled to fly across the country for a redo, and let's just say.... things didn't go well this time around either.

I've definitely taken some trips like that in my youth, to meet up with internet friends. It was usually very shoestring-y because I was young and broke but I always had a credit card for emergencies. I remember taking the bus from Toronto to NYC overnight to meetup with friends online and I was supposed to stay at one of their apartments in Brooklyn. Before I even left, I looked up how to get to her place on the subway and also researched cheaper hotels just in case and made sure I had enough money on my card in case I needed a hotel. This was in like 2008 so not everything was as easy to do online as it is now. I look back on that stuff now and think it was pretty irresponsible and I did some risky stuff, but flying across the country with $50 is wild.

I genuinely hate when people film other people in public. I was waiting for the park and ride bus after work and saw 2 guys in a car filming me because I’m fat, I caught them and they just said hi then kept filming me. It’s was the worst feeling ever, just makes you feel gross about yourself.

The second topic reminded me of my college friend who went to Padre during spring break with a bunch of people she didn’t know. They left her stranded down there after the first couple days and here grandma had to go get her. I was so shocked at how stupid she was to do something so dangerous like that. She was really lucky nothing happened to her.

There is a difference between going out in public and being on video online. Perfect example: filming yourself online is basically step 1. In public, filming yourself is weird. Online world is not the same and thats part of the way we get these sorts of delusions.

Never go on a trip unless you have enough contingency to get yourself home safe if things go wrong. I went to Ireland with my sisters & we missed our flight home bc we thought we had checked in online but we hadn't completed the process. If I was budgeted to my last $50 I wouldn't even have been able to pay the change flight fee.

Second girl is a liar bc Baltimore airport is really nice! Definitely one of the nicest ones in this area. First video, I think filming in gyms should be banned no matter what. If you want to do workout content, do it at home. I go to the gym and hate being on camera. It’s not public, it’s a private business that I pay to go there. I did not sign up to be in your TikTok.

I'll never understand influencers or people on the internet who feel the need to film everything. Although they don't care if they're filmed, most people don't want to just appear in random people's videos. Especially in workout situations where they may not look flattering in them. You just know that if the guy didn't stand up the girl in the second video that she would've made a storytime about how much of a terrible time she had on that trip. Notice how she said she had no money but then was able to book a return flight? Makes no sense.

2-3 million restraining issues are granted each year in the US. people filming themselves in membership only spaces should start realing that there could very well be someone in what they thought was a safe space who has dealt with a stalker, or an abusive ex they got away from. Many women don't want to be on someone else's content. But for some women it could be a matter of safety. Or it could literally be life and death. that girl's energy and extrovert nature are irrelevant, especially when weighed against another person's safety!

So confused by the second girl cuz like nothing in Baltimore is far from each other? If you can’t afford an Uber take the bus or the light rail for a couple bucks. Or see if you can find other people who are already going to the concert to tag along with. I can’t stand listening to go on about a situation when they clearly didn’t really try to solve it.

There has been some crazy pilates drama over the last few months! Back in like December of last year (or maybe earlier I don't remember) there was a girl accused of "copying" another studio's decor/aesthetic that blew up on tiktok. After watching the videos initially I was thinking "okay every pilates studio has that same look" and I thought the girl calling it out was a little nuts and she came off a little bit full of herself. She boasted about the uniqueness of her design skills in a pretty cringey way. BUT later I learned that the copycat studio is local and I actually know people who went there/worked there and the copying was a lot more blatant than the accusing girl may have ever known. The drama fizzled out but it made me realize that sometimes the truth is never really exposed when the person making the claims is really bad at explaining things and gets hung up on unimportant details.

BWI flyer here, there is one terminal at BWI that was total ass the last time I was there, but they aren’t all like that. She had plenty of time to walk around and verify that. Also the arm rests are there to prevent people from doing what she was doing. I’m not an advocate for putting yourself in debt so I wouldn’t have told her to do anything of this but she didn’t have a credit card that she could use and get a room and an Uber?

The gym bullying hits especially home with me, I’m currently on a massive weight loss journey, and I’ve been going to the gym 5 days a week for about 2 years (also on days I couldn’t make it to the gym, I would actually do pilates!). I’m 5lbs away from my 100lbs weight loss milestone, & regulars have approached me to tell me that I’ve been doing an amazing job, and coworkers have commented on how inspiring I am to them. There’s even this older gentleman who’s also on a weight loss journey, to this day I don’t even know his name, but from day 1 he would give me a thumbs up & I would give him one in return. I just can’t imagine how badly it would’ve hurt if I was just bullied away from the gym, most likely i’d still be 300+lbs & depressed… it makes me happy to see people who were in my spot coming to the gym, at the very least it’s just good to be moving in general

The first girl reminded me of when I was taking a picture of my college building's entrance to capture the mosaics at the top. A girl who happened to be standing near the entrance ran away from the camera. I was so focused on getting the top that I didn't even notice her, but when I did, I was mortified. I was in public, and that didn't change the fact that I wasn't mindful of my surroundings. That girl reads her own judgmental energy and no one else's lol.

I get so self-conscious filming in the gym but I have an online trainer so I have to send her videos of my form. I try my best to not get anyone in my videos or I'll like try to crop so no one is like easily identifiable but I always feel like I should yell "I'm not posting these!!!"

From Oregon here! Most of the flights that go from here to far away destinations go through Seattle. It’s a 3 hour drive from Portland to Seattle so she likely drove then caught her flight. Cheaper than getting a super short flight to Seattle from Portland.
