Gabriella Fuentes

This Patreon subscription is the best money I’ve spent

fish

i completely understand you, jessi! I also heavily dislike fruit in my dessert

Kamalei Sterling

Oh shit! I thought it was the 2nd and 4th week that we get new bonus episodes lol this was a very nice surprise 🥰

Elise💕

UHG. The Do we know them/DWKT Patreon/JK podcast trifecta is actually bringing me so much joy. 🤩

Tomassina Gerrard

Fuck chocolate covered strawberries lmao. I totally agree with fruit in my dessert. But I’m so weird about food anyway

Katia M

i feel like everyone sucks in this drama lol the influencer is pretentious for his attitude but justified in being annoyed, this could’ve stayed in the group chat yk the other guy needs to sit down and relax it’s not that deep the cafe should’ve had better communication prior to reaching out to the influencer as well as during the messages feel like employees/social media managers had an idea to reach out but didn’t talk it over with their boss (hopefully this all makes sense long time patreon user but i’ve never commented/dm’d lol)

Emily

I usually really enjoy Daadi's content, when it's deserved. I feel like between Vincent and the Cafe, there's the truth. Daadi should have stayed out of it.

Natalie Montgomery

It seems to me that the person running the social media account is probably a family member or just a random employee who tried to set it up without any approval and then had to backtrack after they were told no. Regardless, the influencer still had the right to be annoyed.

NJK_Jinkies

I think it’s time we stop being nice and call people out for being the dumbasses that they are because this made my head hurt 😭

Shara

Oh my god Jessie and her being angry over fruity desserts is exactly my experience too! I haaate them

Matty Ortega

plot twist the cafe paid Daddi to make things messy - Daddi did promo them at the end after all

user_1

could a patreon exclusive be a vid and recipe of lily making french toast??

Sarah

This entire situation makes no sense? Let me get this right…. He charges $4000 normally and they say they can’t afford to pay that so he literally says he’ll come do it for free? I’m not understanding what the benefit is to him of doing that. I don’t even do this type of work and I can’t understand why anyone would go out of their way for a $10 French toast when they normally charge $4k lol

peachxtaehyung

Lol I loooove chocolate covered strawberries, cherries etc

peachxtaehyung

And I have texture issues so while I love those things I understand you jessi

Rosie Dixon

He needed to know his audience. That’s something to complain to his influencer friends about - not his audience who don’t receive free shit.

Chelsea

i think its an annoyance sure but the internet doesn't need to know. its life. annoyances happen.

Emily

Went to look for Vincent to see what he posts and his account is deleted. And no fruit on desserts?!? Noooo. My favorite desserts always have fruit.

Emily

Came to say the same thing. They definitely all suck.

Lk

Fruity desserts are my favorite. I actually have an interesting opinion, that when you buy a dessert, it is normal, classic, all good. But when you cook it yourself, you can, and possibly should, go crazy. I constantly put all sorts of fruits, berries, frozen crap, juices, milky products. It doesn't always turns out good...

hayley aleigh

It’s free lunch 🤷‍♀️ why not get free food if you can. I think everyone is taking this so seriously

Sarah

I don’t think it’s that deep but I can see why he’s annoyed but I’m also like ??? To why this even happened lol. On no planet earth am I going to charge a restaurant $4k to go eat there but I also probably wouldn’t do it for free if it was a business proposal. Some people don’t want or need free lunch. And time for anyone is valuable so I’d also be annoyed if I took time out of my super busy schedule to go and they turned me away after agreeing! I never comment on any stories but this one had me so confused because how did this even transpire lol.

Rachelerin0408

Am I wrong here? He said he charges $4,000 for a post and they said no to that. He then says I'll still come by and try it and if he liked it MAYBE he'd post it? So if it's not a guarantee why even bother? He could love it and not post just because. I know it's not that expensive but he just seemed very entitled. Maybe I'm wrong maybe it's just his vibes that are fucked.😂

Krista Kiefer

I agree with Daadis take not being the best in this scenario, but he does tend to call out(most of the time rightfully so)extremely entitled influencers, this just happened to be a case where someone complained about something that shouldn’t have been brought to the internet

Brent S

After this video, I’m gonna need a break from the word “French toast” for a while

tiff

tbh i would side eye the business if that happened to me. like they still invited him & said it was fine, he went all the way out there just for them to take it back. that being said, this guy's mistake was taking it to the internet with the attitude that this was "doing them a favor." like... no, you would've gotten free food & they MAYBE wouldve gotten a story post. if anything, they wouldve done him the favor. but they didnt deliver, so it was all just fucked lol

Allison

How on earth did this turn into a big think piece lol. The cafe shouldn’t have rescinded their plus one offer and absolutely fucked up by refusing to serve him on the agreed upon date. And why would anyone be expected to post about something if they don’t like it just because they got it for free? Isn’t that the kind of shit people hate on influencers for? Maybe he doesn’t have the best attitude and was dramatic about it being the worst thing ever but I don’t see how he did anything wrong up to that point. The only person who did something actually egregious here is the Daadis dude who attacked and mocked and misrepresented him

Antonia Panlilio

I’m sorry but does anyone else get annoyed at how many times the French toast guy cut his video in between easy short sentences? Like why did he have to pause/cut after every three words

krista

J: quarter of a hundred some would say L: i think most would say… 😆

Jessie Brown

No, I def agree! The cafe is wrong on turning him away and wasting his time. However! I remember Mikayla not posting that small brand on a maybe. If I were a small business, I would not give a free meal on a maybe and "usually." Two free meals ??? Heck no. And suggesting $4000 to a small business? The benefit is the free meal with a guaranteed post. They don't know him. Some people take advantage of free stuff. The cafe should have shut it down. He was also crazy suggesting $4000 from a small business.

Jessie Brown

I agree with ESH. He was expecting $4000 from a small business. Then, he expected two free meals on a "maybe" and "usually." The cafe should have been shut it down instead of wasting Vincent's time. Don't agree on a time and then not follow through. Be honest.

Yogadork

They asked a few times if he'd post on Instagram for the comped meal and he kept just saying maybe, so thats why they wouldn't comp when he got there. He sucks. I'd definitely go try their french toast. It looks sooo good.

Amy Benham

honestly Daadi usually pretty on it despite having a very specific perfective but i will say he didn't hit with this one

Katherine

So there was miscommunication between the French toast people causing a bad experience for Vincent where he then made a video because he was annoyed to which the resturant gave a sincere apology to him? I dont see what the problem is lolol Daadi just looking for drama where there is none

Nicole Cook

I think the problem is that many people don’t understand that for some being an influencer is how they pay their bills. You can’t pay your rent, mortgage or electric with food. So they asked for his media kit which I don’t think many understand what that is. He asked for $4000 which yes I agree is a little high. I’m in the food blog world and it is absolutely my full time job. Brands contact me for work and I choose whether I want to do it or not. A free meal isn’t always worth the amount of work we have to do after the experience and again their free meal doesn’t actually pay our bills. Daadi doesn’t understand how it all works and kinda smells like jealousy a little. He misrepresents every aspect of what actually happened I think hoping people wouldn’t follow both stories but also not understanding the business. Idk I think the whole thing was blown way out of proportion but as someone who has dealt with a situation way in the past similar to this, it’s not surprising. I enjoyed the girlies take on this. I was quietly annoyed seeing daadi’s videos about this. lol

Marie

Lord I just can’t with “influencers” attitudes. Some stuff really doesn’t need to be put on the internet, yet here we are unfortunately

Riley

YES!!!! like why? It was every sentence.

Riley

Yes please

Cynister Feelings

I think the person who made the deal and the owner that was there that day had a disagreement over having a content creator over for content! Otherwise why did the owner make the barista deal directly with him?

Elise💕

I mean… it makes sense to me. He was essentially willing to go there , and if he did like it, he’d likely post. (Which was where his weird comment about doing them a favor came from) The restaurant could not afford his fee, and they actually were the ones who offered that he still come anyway. lol

Elise💕

It seems you are over simplifying it because you don’t like influencers. He def has an attitude and I think that’s where he went wrong. Whether or not we feel he is worth his fee is beside the point. Restaurant couldn’t afford that type of advertising, so they said he could still come . Everything was very well communicated when you read the texts.

Elise💕

the restaurant offered the food to him and a plus 1 off the bat….And after stating they couldn’t afford the guaranteed post, they still offered he come and try anyway.

Elise💕

The “benefit” was he would likely post if he actually liked the food. So if the restaurant is confident in the food they put out, it was worth it to write off a couple of meals and get some promo. I think he essentially ruined it for himself by trying to come to TikTok with a “expose owner” slightly comedic/bitchy vibe instead of just telling his followers a weird story that happened to him. He over reacted for sure but the business should have ended it at “we can’t afford that”, instead of trying to get him to do free promo because it’s disrespectful whether or not you think he’s over priced…just move on to the next influencer… there are plenty of them at this point. lol

Elise💕

That being said, that means that if he is paid, he will say he likes food that he doesn’t like, which is its own issue. lol

Rachelerin0408

And it seems to me like you are trying to say I have this attitude bc you think I don’t like influencers which is incorrect. In the messages they say that the maybe post in exchange for a free meal was a no go as well but that he was still welcome anytime as in your welcome to come yourself not we’ll comp your meal still. It’s a professional way of saying no thank you but you are still welcome as customer.

Elise💕

Just because I don’t agree with you does not mean I have an attitude. I can have a conversation with differing viewpoints without taking it personal. I’m sorry you felt attacked but I was simply stating what happened and why I thought you were incorrect.

Elise💕

And telling someone to please come by anyway is a ridiculous way of telling someone no thank you. A professional way of saying “no thank you” is “no thank you”. Communicate properly and this entire situation would not have happened. Do I like influencers? No. Do I like him? No. But I can separate that and see the facts. The restaurant learned a lesson, (doubt he did , because he obviously doesn’t care about his impact on the restaurant). By no means do I think they should be harassed online , this entire situation was ridiculous. From both sides.

Sally Ranford

Especially fruit salad. It's not a pudding it's a punishment for something terrible you've done in a past life.

Sally Ranford

Surely comp is short for complimentary and not compensated?

Alexa

Anyone think it's odd that the first screen shot and third screen shot are completely different from the Instagram text bubble format? theres no reason why it would be cropped that much when the other screen shots have the businesses name and picture. I'm questioning the validity of those two "screen shots".

kendralicious

Daadi is an nyc native that calls nyc transplants out - so there is kinda an underlying animosity to creators like Vincent because he represent a subgroup of people that aren’t liked. That just explains more of the context behind him & his video styles lol NYC natives tend to like Daadi

Tony

Now I want French toast lol

朵 鞠

What’s NYC transplants? Immigrants included in that category?

kendralicious

I don't believe immigrants are typically included in that category, but they can be. A transplant refers to someone who moves to a large city (LA, NY for ex), usually is affluent, and had a heavily romanticized version of the city so once they arrive to the city, they look down on a lot of the more cultural aspects of the city and are very out of touch with the city's actual culture & instead try to build the TV version of the city. In NYC, that's basically the vibe curated in shows like Sex & the city. There's a lot of influencers who heavily talk down on the other boroughs, talk about how they don't like uptown Manhattan, which is very unsavory to a native NYer.

Burtasaurusrex11

I'm so co fused by the whole not using the same font and bubbles thing ....do they not realize each person can have a different font on their phones? Vincent may have a different font and phone theme than the other guy. If I take a screenshot of my messages they are going to be completely different than the font and chat bubbles than if say, my best friend took a screenshot from her phone and sent them to someone. I have android she has iPhone and I have a custom theme.

Danielle

Challah is also a good bread for French toast 🥰

Diego Dimucci

I'm more curious about if food reviewers are getting payment from businesses to promote their product, but what if they pay him out the $4k, but he truly thought it was horrible... is he still going to post a positive review? And if that's the case, then how credible are their reviews? Why should people follow a potentially bad recommendation?

CJ Birkmeyer

i think that it *might* make sense if the cafe couldn’t comp those meals out, i’m just thinking about my work and depending on shipment days, we might not have enough of certain ingredients. especially since they said the French toast is a new item, i think they could’ve been short on their French toast ingredients leading up to this. the whole “you should’ve come yesterday” would kinda support that. still weird that they offered that in the first place though but yeah

Kelsey Lowery

I worked at a mexican restaraunt and found staples in my fried ice cream one time. Because I worked there, I knew exactly how they got there: they keep a small shelf for reciepts above the ice cream freezer. a stapler and extra staples were there from when reciepts were stapled together. Somehow the staples got brushed down into the ice cream below. I wonder what the storage above the dough station at texas roadhouse looks like!

Jessica L

Lily we need your Epstein videos at this point

Cindy

I always thought something was wrong with Daadi and I didn't like him (maybe his voice and way of speaking, lol I blocked him). Misrepresenting the whole story :/

emilie

okok dumb question but at 25:58, why does one of the screenshots have a light purple bubble when the bubble below it (+in the other 2 screenshots in Daadi's tiktok) is a different shade of purple? is that maybe what the commenter was referring to when they said the screenshots were fake/edited? but those specific screenshots were provided by Daadi, not vincent, while the commenter seemed to be saying that vincent faked them iirc? my brain is too fried for this lol my opinion keeps flipflopping every other minute this ep

melika Zamani

i thought the stain on jessi's t shirt was a stain on my computer screen been trying to remove it for like 5 mins even thought it was damaged for a sec😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Alicia

Fruit tarts are my fave 🤣 He’s being a drama queen though. That’s the worst thing that’s happened to him?!
