In today's episode, we have an update from an episode we did a year and a half ago about the TikToker, Brenay Kennard, and the extremely messy affair she had with her best friend's husband, who also happened to not only be her manager, but the cousin of her own husband. As if that wasn't already chaotic, they all reside in North Carolina, which just so happens to be one of the few states that allows alienation of affection lawsuits, which allowed Akira (Brenay's best friend and the wife of the man she was cheating with) to take Brenay to court for breaking up their marriage.

Military spouse 🙋‍♀️ What Jessi is referring to is the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). It's a secondary set of laws that all military members agree to abide by, and yes, adultery is on there. You can lose your rank or be discharged if your misdeeds are pursued by your leadership. UCMJ violations can also result in jail time in military prison.

My best friend, 28 at the time, got sued over this in NC and ended up having to pay his wife, he’s a lawyer in his 50s. She could’ve gotten out of it if she’d admitted she wasn’t his first affair, but she refused because he didn’t want her to. At least he was giving her the money to cover it.

Veteran here. Yes cheating is against the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) and you can get in trouble. To what degree depends on the paperwork that want to do, and yes Lily is right -many service members cheat. It just matters on who catches them, who reports them, and again who is tasked with doing the paperwork and how much paperwork they want to do. We had multiple members get caught and all of them had different outcomes. Some got a slap on the wrist, and then I know of one who lost their rank.

Brenay moved in to Akira's home, made Akira and her kids miserable, and DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE. 😭 Akira's grandmother had to force Brenay out of the house and Tim followed that woman. So yeah, def sue her for accountability (and vengeance). Glad she won!

Hey othrr girlies! I was in payroll for a number of years. When wages are garnished, the company who issues the checks (for example ADP) gets the notification. So its withdrawn waaay before it hits the client's bank acct. Its on their paystub, so the employer issues a smaller check into the acct.

Depending on the state the whole paystub can be garnished. It is a mess an a half. I work in accounting and I have multiple clients going through this right now and for most of them for the next several years their paychecks barely make a $1,000. Granted that I am working of this because of back dated child support but regardless, it's very uncomfortable explaining to people that we got a court order stating that their paycheck would be x y and z for the foreseeable future.

North Carolina family law attorney here! Criminal conversation refers to the actual sexual acts between the affair partners, whereas alienation of affection refers more to the emotional acts/other aspects of an affair besides sex. They are almost always both included in a complaint. They are also almost always used as a leverage tool in the married couples’ divorce proceedings - like we will drop this lawsuit against your girlfriend if you give me what I want in the divorce. You can use marital misconduct as a reason to get alimony out of your spouse who cheated, instead of suing for alienation. I think they are stupid lawsuits, but so juicy!!!

You can actually bring a gun to an airport. But it has to be in a secure box, with 2 specific locks on it, you have to let them know when checking your suitcase, and then you'll have to put it in your suitcase. You also have to licensed.
