Just a note, although effective, GLP1s have not yet been examined for their long term health effects when used as a weight loss drug. I understand and agree with what you all are saying, but wanted to point out that many responsible doctors would not even consider prescribing those, as chronic usage is required to maintain the weight loss. Ever person is different, but just something to consider.

hi girlies as mental health professional, BPD episodes can absolutely cause memory loss. People describe it as “seeing red” but that being said, it’s still important to hold yourself accountable which is NOT Amberlynn’s strong suit

I don't think there is much more harm with cannabis/weer than with regular cigarettes or cigars. Weed has been around for a long time, so we know their effects

As a BPD girlie this has happened to me before. I wouldn’t say seeing red, I feel like it’s like a blank spot in my memory. My partner tells me it happened but I have no memory. Although it’s only been twice, those times I was in a trauma childlike state. I was extremely upset. I can’t speak for binge eating. But I can definitely see that happening. My therapist tells me how important it is to stay accountable, not blaming myself for every little thing but being accountable. There is a difference, I struggled with that for so long. Also- I try to say when talking about BPD is that my therapist explains to me that diagnosis are like pie charts. They overlap, not everyone with BPD has narcissistic tendencies or is just out here as a hinderance to society. Some of us work very hard and stay in therapy and I just have to say something each time because BPD has such a negative stigma around it. Which I understand but please everyone keep this in mind 🤍

This is relevant if you want to lose 10/20 pounds to fit into a dress. Not relevant when you are nearing 600lbs. In that situation the balance of potential, possible side effects of GLP1s versus the guaranteed early death of this level of morbid obesity means the doctor gives you GLP1s. If you can’t wipe your own ass, can’t stand on your own legs, risk dying in your sleep because you can’t breath, you roll the dice and take the GLP1s.

ok but glp-1's are not the answer for everything, especially as the dosages for weight loss haven't been fully researched and there are tons of dangerous side effects that nobody talks about because "omg look how much weight I lost!" is more important

I do wanna say as a girly with BPD, there is moments of black out when you’re triggered. It’s still not great to not take accountability for those actions but not remembering is a common effect of those moments ❤️

Pharmacist girlie here, for someone who is 500-600lbs you would want to use a GLP-1 when looking at risk vs benefit. The long term effects of being that weight is worse than what the data currently shows for GLP-1s. Also, you do not need to chronically use to maintain the weight.

I hear you, but I also think a pharmacist shouldn’t be giving medical advice in Patreon comments. The world at large struggles with internalized fatphobia and thinks online discourse is somehow in a fat person’s best interest. I don’t think we should feel so comfortable making guesses online about what’s best for someone. Again, I think criticisms of what she shares and her behavior are fair, I just don’t see how commenting with medical advice does anything other than further stigmatize fatness for people in the comments.
