Big brain Toranaga

Boogie's Games

I was so pissed when I found out this banger of a show was only gonna be 10 episodes 😢😢

Julius

I love Lupa bro.

Maxine

nah I'm with Lupa - Buntaro is definitely still alive! I don't think he's a traitor though, but why WOULDN'T they show him die on-screen, instead having him 'disappear' as he fends off the others? Plus the only kind thing Mariko said about him is that he's a skilled warrior, so I think he's *believed* dead but will pop back up after she and John get together (if they do - for DRAMA)

Nikan

Ion think Buntaro dead. guys have been decapitated but he off screened? Ion see it there’s more to his character

Frederick

I’m in camp Lupa on this one my BS meter is on. If I don’t see a body I don’t believe it

Danny

I stand with Lupa-san

John Cedar

Apparently it's a series of books that each focuses on a different set of characters but are connected, kind of like the show Fargo. So we could definitely be getting the later books adapted into a new story with new characters each season, considering how popular this show is.

Jon Fejes

I wanted more of John wildly yelling about ladies' virtue lol

Guav

After the last solo leveiling episode im going to believe Lupa is becoming the all seeing one, I used to wish for times like these ;(

Lurkingposter

C'mon, guys. One of the most basic rules of TV is if you don't see them die they are still alive.

Zaph

Pre clapped 🤣

Gilthwixt

Toranaga is such an asshole lol. "We're gonna race to shore but not before I make you dive in 10 times and freeze your ass off first. Best not win." Even with this he's playing 5D Chess, showing Blackthorne who's boss and testing his loyalty at the same time. This is some "When I say jump, you ask how high" bullshit lmao

Dc Jerome

Barry has lupa an expert at things flying through the air 😂😂😂

Cameron Hall

John isn't a pirate. That's what the letters he had in his ship say. He's a privateer meaning he has permission to defend his ship from actual pirates

Kass

If Buntaro isn't dead like Lupa says, they might try to have Mariko and John get closer first while they also believe he is deceased and before they can confess their feelings, Buntaro shows back up alive to drive a wench through their budding relationship. Idk though, he might actually be dead lol.

kingBD

Lmao this is not on the level of egg theory. That was a whole different beast

Argo2Unitard

He was literally given orders by his queen to pillage and burn Spanish/Portuguese settlements. That's piracy by definition, look up Piracy in the 1600s.

Cameron Hall

As a privateer yes. There isn't much difference between them and pirates. Privateers were allowed to do fucked shit in the name of the crown. Pirates were outlawed

Freeofgreed

I hope they avoid this comment section. Lots of people sneak spoiling shit thinking they’re more slick than they actually are.

Steve

avoid comments, tons of spoilers

Luciaron

the ocean is warmest towards fall because its been warmed up all summer. Probably not warm, but not freezing like in spring.

Luciaron

Pirates hired by the government become privateers. But not all privateers were pirates before being hired.

John Cedar

@Argo2Unitard No, it's not piracy. The Portuguese and Spanish and anyone else in Europe at the time would also do this and not call it piracy. It's warfare, and in their opinion, divinely justified, on both sides. The Catholics simply do not recognize the Queen of England's authority to grant someone the right to privateering, and it's beneficial to their cause to paint him as a pirate. They would not call their allies pirates for the exact same behavior, so calling Blackthorne one is very politically motivated. Don't get me wrong, it's still insanely fucked up and makes no difference to the settlements they put to the torch. But by definition, pirates are fighting for themselves, not on behalf of a country. It's the same thing as saying that a private citizen blowing up a building is a terrorist, but a soldier doing it is just an enemy combatant, even if they were killing the same people.

jayyyyyk

Roshi u going be very disappointed lupsan for the win

Thulani Mason

I watched the first episode of the 1980s Shogun with a friend of mine recently. The way this show captures the comradery between John and Rodriguez is wonderful.

Delinda Arts

MARIKO THEE STALLION 😮‍💨

Anorak

Jesus Christ the spoilers are nuts

mgvortex

Comments section is mad disrespectful spoiler wise 😩

Sheera inventing heated oceans

Mubarez Ahmad

Sheera has a point, large bodies of water are good at absorbing and storing heat. Especially near cost lines.

Moon God

Y'all were so quick to shut down Sheera when she was right about water being warm even though the air is cold, when both of you don't even know what y'all were talkin about lmao. Confidently wrong.

Sugoi_Boi__

Nah I hope Lupa doubles down and keeps saying Fife (like Life but with an F) instead of Fief (like Thief but with a F)

Metal Gear Sn4rk, the tank that apparently never went through high-school

Lupa's guess is not that outrageous. While he probably did not betray Toranaga, they might have spared him, as we do not see him die but get backed into an alley out of sight. They might be setting up drama with him later together with the relationship between Mariko and John.

von

Many Japanese Noblewomen were trained as warriors, known as Geisha’s. Their job was to defend their homes when their husbands were at war. Such as if their home came under siege etc. etc.

Nick 8

Justice for sheera

jayyyyyk

Go find Some better to do cause didn’t nobody spoil stop assuming werido all I did was agree slow much 🤦🏽‍♂️😂

Mack

Lol yall dont read the comments

SupremeCai

29:45 nah I think Lupa onto smth. With how GoT this is, if it aint on screen I don't believe it. Especially since they're not afraid to kill characters lol. That mf purposely was pushed into an alley outta view hmmmmm

Mubarez Ahmad

My Great grandmother had only one arm and used to stand on the roof of their house in Pakistan with a sword in her hand to defend their home while her husband was in the big city to buy medicine. She stood on guard to defend their house from thiefs at night while her children were asleep. Got the same Vibe from your comment, women are true warriors when it comes to defending their home and family

Ash

not Egg theory lol

n momo

waw that's a lot of comments. Will Youtube also going to be trapped by Cecil's "teleportation Gate"

Alrick Campbell

John Blackthorn is Vinsuke Diseru. That man can sail a boat on dry land.

vdalson

Their title was NOT geisha, geisha are performers. They were just called samurai as well; samurai was a social class. But you're right about everything else

von

No they weren’t called samurai. They’re called una musha or The full title Onabu Geisha. The Samurai was a class but samurai its self was a title exclusive to Male warriors.

Tyler Ngari

i’m wit lupa the husband def coming back after bro & hg “ pillow “ 😭

Leon

Idk lupa made some good points cause we didn't see him "die" he just disappeared in a house lol

Jjh

Lupa’s probably right. Realistically, all the dude would have to do is fend off enough people for him to gain some distance and run away. Then take his armor off and just hide somewhere. Considering all the commotion, that really isn’t impossible.

Cash

Onna-bugeisha is just a broad term for women who trained in martial arts like samurai did. Shortening it to geisha makes no sense in this case because the emphasis is on them being trained in bugei 武芸 (martial arts), therefore making them onna (female) bugeisha.

HIM

I love the use of Buntaro's character to showcase how Men hardened by War, back then, could be Both terrible and callous men AND fierce warriors that die with honor. Anyone with a drill sergeant type of Dad may understand what this is like. Cotton Hill type beat lol 😂

HIM

ya know, we saw this a little in Black Lagoon, where the Translator is ACTUALLY the one keeping the peace lol. You have one party talking RECKLESS, and if the translator didn't paraphrase nicely, people would die on the spot. W friar for that alone.

HIM

It's called spoilers, Chief. Everyone gave him his flowers on the revealing episode.

Newerk

Been waiting for years for some of these content creators to watch Mr Robot. Still hasnt happened, but I'm with you on this one. That show is by definition underrated. It's in my top 5 shows is all time.

WindShinobi590

Nah I'm with Lupa on this one lol. If they were gonna make that dude look like such an a-hole the whole time but let him go out with honor in the end, Idt they would've had his death happen offscreen. I think he'll be back lol. Probably against the main crew though.

Leo

I'm not sure about the lupa style egg theory but I have seen enough anime to know when a character goes off screen like that he most likely isn't dead. Speaking of anime John D. Blackthorne must be from one piece or something he needs to be inducted into the absolutely terrible anime fathers hall of fame right up there with ging and them 🤣.
