Well honestly I understand where Daniel’s coming from. Yeah it’s over dramatic but think about it. Miyagi was pretty much like his dad and damn near raised him in a way. It’s like when you never got a chance to know who your parent was and you wanted to know more about them but they’re gone and you can’t really get any other information other than a negative moment. Even though Daniel’s grown asf now but we see every time when it comes to Mr. Miyagi he just lights up on the inside so it’s a very sensitive spot when he hears something negative

I get Daniel though. Y’all forget this man has lived his entire life very strictly following all the things Miyagi said and taught him very closely. He’s lived his life by Miyagi and his teaching since they met. It’s kinda how Gabi was losing her shit when she found out and realized Eldians actually weren’t as bad as she was taught and had lived her life believing whole heartedly. Daniel has lived his life strongly believing and following this man and his teachings. Seeing and thinking of him as this one way. Just to find out that not only did he barely know Miyagi at all. A guy who he would’ve sworn he knew completely, but that Miyagi has once done something that is light years in the opposite direction of what he peached to Daniel.

Daniel's always held Mr. Miyagi to an extremely high regard to the point where his whole life is revolved around his teachings and even uses him as the standard for what it means to be a good human being. Also, Mr. Miyagi lived long enough to be a grandfather to his kids so it's not crazy for Daniel to feel some type of way after finding out the man whose name he always brings up to others as a argument for being good isn't as pure as he thought.

It is concerning but it’s something we have seen through the entire show. also meeting Miyagi completely changed and shaped his life. Miyagi was his idol and role model. They say never meet your hero’s cause you would disappointed more times than not. Daniel had his hero and thought he knew everything about him. Thought Miyagi had told him everything. And saw him as this amazing guy. Not perfect but amazing. You can be inperfect and still not be a criminal. But Finding out Miyagi, assaulted and robbed someone so badly that he had to flee the country is a big shock to everything he thought he knew. You know how badly you have to assault someone that you don’t just leave town, but the country

The first two movies are actually really good. 3 is goofy and repeats a lot of Karate Kid 1. Cobra Kai season 4 and 5 do a good job fixing Karate Kid 3 retroactively, making 3 worth watching too... And yes, they dive deep into Danny's relationship with Miyagi, who was his father figure when he has no father to go to.
