I'm super confused about the response to Devon. Like does the show not spell out that Barnes was approaching the entire process with bias. Like what are the chances that she was the last person on the rankings. Two seasons of seeing who she is, but now all of a sudden, she is trash. Miguel had no such qualms and out Kenny on his butt. If Robby is on par with his step brother, then it should be a no brainer that Kenny is skilled but not quite there yet.

What Devon did barely compares to the assault these kids have done against eachother. Broken arm, scarred by a weapon and kicked off a railing at school along with the mental trauma of Hawk getting his metaphoric dick cut off ( the episode when his hair got shaved which was humiliation ). Yeah even after rewatching I’m still not a fan of what they’re doing with Devon’s character. She was never the type to complain like she was in this ep, like where did her confidence and bravado go? That being said tho, Sheera saying she’s “Irredeemable” is crazy lmao. This is legit a prank compared to what some of these kids have done, Hawk broke Demitri’s arm and got no real consequence for it and let’s not talk about Robby putting Miguel in a wheelchair for half a season. Also I lowkey can’t feel bad for Kenny because he had that karma coming to him for that shit he did to Anthony while in Cobra Kai which he still hasn’t even apologized for.

This episode didn't make me dislike Devon or anything. She's always been a fierce competitor which is why Johnny picked her. At the same time she has powerhouses like Sam and Tory in her dojo who have been doing karate a little longer than she essentially has to compete with. She was at the top of her game in debating so it makes sense she'd wanna be at the top in karate too. Also like other people have said some of these other kids have done much worse.
