Sheera it is more difficult to confess to a childhood friend than it is to confess to a classmate. The reason being is that this CHILDHOOD friend has been a FRIEND their entire lives. If you get rejected, there's a risk of not being able to be friends afterwards. And forcing yourself to be friends does not work either, because you're in a constant loop of awkwardness. It is horrible
