13 Ghosts is rated R from what IMDB says. I HAD to check because stuff in there was too crazy for a PG-13 rating. Fun fact: Matthew Lillard was in 13 Ghosts and in FNAF.

I think it's because most of the fandom of FNAF is mostly children's even though the game is supposed to be dark. Scott Cawthon already knew this and thought it wouldn't do well at the box office if it was rated R and wanted for it to be made into a trilogy, so he kept it PG-13 instead. Anyway yeah, it could have had a lot more potential if they had changed the ratings, but they'll probably do that in the sequel, I don't know.

Ngl, I like this version of events a lot more than how the game lore has become so god damn convoluted because Scott kept retconning stuff. Plus its an interesting version of events compared to canon with Mike being the brother of a victim and Vanessa being Afton's daughter (which gives her connection to Afton for later reasons). I think it was very well crafted! Also I just kinda hated how Afton became some mad scientist in the series over time. I liked it better when he was just a serial killer, it kept the series more grounded in its ghost story roots, ironic to say yes.

Yeah probably not gonna happen but rated R would be the way to go that being said the movie as a whole was pretty lackluster the actors did okay and the animatronics team killed it but what else would you expect from Jim Henson company. I experienced the games and all the lore through roshi and sheera playthrough so I knew some of the Easter eggs but I feel like they put in so much that some went over my head all in all I think the scariest thing in this movie was lupa screaming at the top of his lungs don't let this man go to a haunted house 😂.
