I think Sheera is forgetting some details about the killer. So let me just recap. The killer, a stalker who was in love with Ai and got made when he "found out" she had kids. This man comitted suicide after the murder. The problem that Aqua had is that this man couldn't have known where they lived, so he must have had help. And we know that Ai called the real father and told him where she lived. So as a viewer at least, we're pretty confident the father told the stalker where she lived. Aqua also thought this. I'm with roshi in the fact i don't believe this man is dead, I'm gonna guess that the double suicide actor isn't Himekawas real dad but he thinks he is

Reminder that Ai's actual murderer *was* a deranged fan that committed suicide shortly after. Aqua is chasing his father because he's the only possible leak for both of Ai's locations (her hospital and her apartment)

I mean, it should be immediately obvious if you think about it for more than a minute, and I guessed it too on first read of the manga, but from the comments then and in the anime threads now, a lot of people really are overlooking that detail. Can't wait for their reaction to World's Greatest Detective Akane pointing it out later.

From the start the math doesnt add up, Aqua is 17. His half bro is 22 and says their dad and mom double offed when he was 5. Well Ai was killed by that stalker when Aqua was 3-4 (stalker directed by Aqua father under his assumption).

So far my theory is that Taiki's mom was probably messing with Uehara and the actual dad at the same time and Taiki not knowing that is under the impression that Uehara is his actual dad.

Definitely sheera forgetting that it’s known the killer was a psycho fan. His dad being the lead is because Ai had just moved to a new home and no one had known where she lived so her address was leaked to someone. It’s heavily hinted at that it was the dad who provided the address to the psycho fan since it shows Ai telling the dad the address over the pay phone to meet the kids. The dad isn’t the guy who came to the house but the guy who got Ai killed by doxxing her

Seems way to casual and anti-climatic to actually be the case and left at that, and neither the article nor Himekawa mentioned any possible motives for the supposed double suicide, which may or may not be noteworthy

I don't really agree that season 1 alludes to it being the dad but i also agree that this is cap and is more likely to be a device for Aqua's character development especially after he crashed out in the play and decided to abandon his happiness. Also it is funny that we forget there is an entirely different killer that killed Aqua in his previous life.

Season 1 kept emphasizing the fact that Ai was in contact with the dad when she called him from the hospital and when she told him her new address years later. Only a select few knew about Ai's situation so the dad would be the first choice of being the killer/mastermind in both cases.

If you were told dead in your face by your only other blood relative that your father is dead, I would believe him too. All the information Aqua has is that he's related to this guy who was with their father and the only person who had a connection with him has evidence that he died.

Not really a response to you, but since the topic was brought up thought I'd ask anyone who knows the answer. Roshi has two Herman Miller chairs he and Sheera sit on during his streams, right? I always assumed that's what they were, since one time he fell down with the chair and the back of it looked kind of like a Herman Miller chair. And I think someone on stream did ask him what kind of chair he had, and he gave an answer. My mind remembers him saying Herman Miller but honestly, I can't remember his answer too clearly.

Yeah! It's quite an obvious red herring, as roshi says it's too early in the story. But i've always liked this reveal due to how it serves an alternative purpose of breaking down Aqua's cold and callous persona. To the point where he obliviously takes the first out he can get in order to stop his pursuit of revenge that has quite evidently caused him extreme mental anguish.

I think you guys are confused on the killer thing. It was already confirmed in season 1 that the person who actually stabbed Ai was a psycho fan but Aqua suspects that the father leaked their location because they recently moved and no one else knew where they lived. Aqua's theory is that the father manipulated Ai's killer into murdering her and gave him their location to kill her for whatever reason

I would not expect anime hair color to follow real world genetics in any way whatsoever. I've seen kids in anime with hair colors completely different from either parent, and then sometimes they do whole species as a single hair color. Best not to read into hair color too much.
