If you guys remember, when Petey was first tryna speak to Mark about how shady Lumon is, he mentioned that some workers they never let leave as in they are still in there as they speak. Ironically his wife is one of those people and outie Mark could have been knew his wife was alive if he spoke more to Petey about it since he knows her from the severed floor.

Because he's not over her death and is still grieving it, that's the issue she has with progressing the relationship. His responses are irrational, you don't need to rip of a picture of your ex wife. It's disrespectful to her and paints himself in a bad light(someone who would disrespect her). And he knows all this and she knows he does, which is why shes around to begin with and why he fix'd the picture(besides the plot narrative obviously).

I get that he isnt over her death (hence the heavy drinking and isolation outside of his sister) just for me, him ripping the picture wasnt a deal breaker. I think its more that Mark is clearly showing red flags of lying which isnt healthy for a new relationship. In the beginning of the episode he clearly lies to her about where he went in the middle of the night and then lies again to her face acting like he doesn't care about his wife. He has no reason to lie from her perspective unless he's hiding something shady and or is unwell.
