Very very solid episode. Don’t think it’s absolute cinema just YET. I think it’s too early for that but damn I was already gonna watch it since in a huge comics fan and loved The Batman but now I’m LOCKED IN FOR THE RIDE. Also yes you're right, they said that this is going to directly lead into The Batman Part 2 which will take place in Winter. My theory is that the new drug shipment coming in is venom.

Fun fact keen eyed viewers will notice that the mob boss that was catwomans dad and was shot dead in “The Batman” was played by John Turturro but he was unavailable to film because he was too busy filming Severance season 2 as Irving. They replaced him with Mark Strong who you may remember as sinestro from ryan reynolds green lantern, Sivana in the first shazam, Merlin in the kingsman, Frank D’Amico from Kick ass, and he also voice acts a lot with space marine enjoyers knowing him as the OG VA for titus the ultramarine.

Lupa to answer your question on how Penguin will be referred to, think of Batman in this universe, you most likely won’t hear himself ever say “I’m Batman” but everyone else in Gotham just knows that’s Batman. I think it’ll be the same with Penguin, everyone will just know he’s THE penguin but he’s not gonna say “I’m the penguin” yk

I loved how Oswald got his very own Robin before Batman😭😂😭. There have also been some theories that Victor Aguilar could be Victor Fries aka Mr. Freeze, but personally, I think it could be the serial killer Victor Zsasz, the guy with a bunch of tally mark carved into his skin from Batman Arkham and Batman TellTale games. The reason is the way Vic talks about whether to cut the front throat or cut through the back neck exposing a piece of the spine, which seems very odd for a stuttering teenager to talk about a bit calmly. Overall, I could be wrong, and that he's a new original character created for the show.

Yeah, it hasn't been the same since the Nolan films. Don't get me wrong, they're amazing and The Batman is really freaking good too, but they're all missing the uncanny valley, almost mythic stuff that Batman is also known for. Hell, as much as I liked this first episode of The Penguin, it feels like you could replace the characters with The Sopranos' and it wouldn't change much, if anything at all. Can't wait 'til someone else takes us back to weird, wacky Batman.

They can, but they'd take away their powers and find some boring way to make up for them in a more realistic manner. Poison Ivy would just be a doctor-turned-bioterrorist with strong feelings toward Wayne Enterprises because they somehow fucked with nature during one of their projects or something like that.
