BLEACH from here on out is nothing but Absolute Cinema 🙌 The rest of this arc is brought to you by Pierrot Films to put Pierrot back on the map as one of, if not the greatest OG studios of anime. The callback parallel to Aizen & Kisuke’s final conversation when he was getting sealed back in Ep 309 about the Soul King and what Ichibe tells Ichigo at the end of this episode is hauntingly & poetically phenomenal. ‬ ‪And here comes Yhwach who just decides to flip the script and chess board knocking the table out of the way to return the world saw it once was as one.‬ Now while A = Almighty, remember Uryu also has the same Schrift (Letter) of power that Yhwach does, so more on that later on the name of it when it’s revealed. What he did switching Senjumaru’s fabric threads onto her look like what Itachi did to Kurenai with his Tsukuyomi in Naruto, not to mention it’s a also callback to when he one shotted Mayuri and his bankai in Ep 44 back in the soul society arc.‬ Lastly Fun Fact: Ichibe’s Futen Taisatsuryō which translates to "Slaughterous Mausoleum of Halted Reincarnation” is what directly inspired Sakuna’s Malevolent shrine and it’s not even a Bankai which have generally inspired domain expansions. It’s been a year since the last part so it was much needed and besides it lined up with the Kaiser Kasang (Quincy king folklore) 9 minute reveal awakening of Yhwach’s almighty, not to mention there was a new added scene from the main cast perspectives in the middle of it, so it worked out in the end anyways.

Nah I think Chad is Tien. He was a problem when he was introduced, proceeds to do more or less nothing for the rest of the series, except for that on one really cool thng that one time(Tien with Neo Tri Beaming Cell and Chad punching a dude and having a skull indent into the wall). I would say Renji is Krillin, especially since he gets the baddie in the end.

@Awakened - I think that should have been shown in the 2nd cour instead of spending half of the finale on that weird Kon thing. Production issues are the worst. Still, if we'd gotten a 2 or 3 minute recap this episode, I would have been fine, but they literally just reused the final X minutes of the last episode. For a season premiere, that kinda takes some of the wind out of its sails.

Real talk, I agree. At this day and age, continuation of a franchise has such a huge ass gap that people need to make it common practice to just refresh themselves. But we know the real reason they do recap ... shortcutting production. Reusing what's already made to lighten the load of animating everything else, blahblahblah.

Fun fact: The recap is almost exactly 9mins long. That had to be intentional given the poem about his resurrection with a strong emphasis on "9".

Ichibe’s song was a soul destroying ritual magic. He was looking to erase Ywach utterly, both to defeat him now, and to prevent him from ever returning. But apparently, Ywach is some kind of eldritch abomination, so that wasn’t enough to kill him.

Except it wasn’t really under any production issues. It was just under a tight schedule, cour 2 was more consistent, but it just didn’t reach the same peaks as cour 1 yet what they managed to do in only 6 months was incredible. Don’t let your feelings dictate or try to turn it into information when it’s disinformation.

@Merfhew Except that was mostly due to the recap that it had following episode 21 which was the only episode that you can argue had some behind-the-scenes production issues regarding the art and layout, the rest was concerning other things.

Just a clarification on why they did a recap at the beginning: They did it so that at exactly 9:00 he "opens his eyes" and gets his full powers back, just like they said in his chant: Over 900 years, he shall recover his heartbeat. Over 90 years, he shall recover his intellect. Over 9 years, he shall recover his power. And over 9 days, he shall recover the world.

Ichibei'd ritual was pretty damn cool. It was giving old world, giving ancient traditional ritual shit. Had very sinister undertones. Too bad that shit did absolutely nothing. Same with home girl's entire IKEA Bankai. Basically did nothing which I feel bleach has a bad habit of doing with these very epic, showey Bankai abilities but I shouldn't get hung up on.

Agreed. In Soul Society I feel like they setup Renji to be the Vegeta of the show/manga but he takes too many Ls & never feels like he’s close to Ichigo’s level. And everytime Renji gets stronger, Ichigo also gets stronger and by more. The Krillin comparison definitely fits.

He did say that it took 100 nights from Soul Society 100 years in the future. I don’t know what exactly that entails, but it sounds like a pretty hefty price. This isn’t simple magic. There’s a price that must be paid to use dark magic that violates the natural order of the world like this. Ichibe was trying to avoid that like any sensible being.

Idk i see some similarities, A allows him to see into all the different futures. The Six eyes allows gojo to see CE and others use CT's allowing him to read(or in a way predict) their next move when others wouldn't. Probably Roshi didnt notice it. But 9 minutes recap at the start (exactly 9 minutes after opening) just so Yhwach activates his power exactly 9 minutes in after 9 years. Last episode of bleach was aired 2012. Bleach´s return in 2021. 2021-2012 = 9 years. It was also said in the manga that it took 9 years for Yhwach to regain his power. 900 years 90 years 9 years 9 minutes. The Author is cooking. I hope Roshi sees that
