This was a very good episode. One thing I wanted to say about Subaru dying in the tower when he was hanging. He died due to pure fear. She basically took Lusbel's (The child) fear applied it Subaru then took the fear Subaru was now feeling (his own and now Lusbels fear) and applied it to Lusbel. Then took the fear Lusbel was now feeling and applied it to Subaru and so on and so forth. Basically she kept multiplying the fear over and over until it killed him. Literally Death by Fear. And glad you guys respected his decision making process this time around. From what I remember his checkpoint is only 15 minutes before Sirius appears on the tower. So he was dying in the span of 10 to 15 minutes and immediately coming up with a new plan. Also expect more hands from a lot of characters this season. This Arc is crazy. No spoilers though. Enjoy the ride.

It was only mentioned in a single line last episode, but Tina is Lusbel's childhood friend. Sirius was going to take her hostage, but Lusbel volunteered instead to save Tina. And, as you saw, Sirius took Tina anyway. Man, I just have no idea how they're gonna get outta this one. I dunno if y'all remember, but Reinhard has an obscene list of blessings and abilities, and Sirius essentially just turned him off. And not only that, Regulus Corneas just showed up. He was there with the Archbishop of Gluttony when the caravan with Rem and Crusch got attacked and they both lost their memories. Shit went from peacefully hanging out and training for a year to "oh god what the fuck do we do" immediately. EDIT: Also, something that was a bit more explained in the LN, Subaru was returned only 15 minutes prior to his death. He's usually gotten a day at least. This is the shortest time he's ever had between death and checkpoint thus far. So the pressure is ON.

I can absolutely be wrong, but I do think Sirius meant Betelgeuse. Both have the same last name and she called them her husband, as well as she “wasn’t allowed time to grieve”, and since Betelgeuse is dead I feel that’s the best evidence

My first thought was regulus since we know he wants to marry emilia and that would make sirius jealous. That could also explain why she looks like emilia. We know regulus also wanted to marry fortuna and fortuna has similar features as emilia. Maybe sirius tried to alter her appearance to look more like fortuna/emila but fucked it up, hence the bandages. Or maybe its like someone else said and she is fortuna all mummified, which would also explain the bandages. Who knows man im hype for this season. that hanging death was one of the more greusome we've seen. The detail of all his fingers being cut off because they were under the chain is crazy.

There has to be a reason why they are hiding Sirius' face.... Her hair is Silver and her iris is purple, her pupil is blue, she shares the same last name as Petelgeuse (whom I'm assuming is the person she's referring to as her husband?). The only other character we know of so far who has silver hair, purple iris', blue pupils and is a love interest of Petelgeuse is Emila's aunt (adoptive mother) Fortuna. The only confusing part is why she would call her a "half-devil" when the "devil" part implies her Elf heritage, when Fortuna is of full Elven blood.

Some people had valid criticism. Some people were over reacting to how the trio were treating Subaru and a lot of people just straight up were spoiling stuff last episode that was brought up this episode. Like I get it I had my own criticism of how they were treating Subaru last episode but the people straight up getting mad and spoiling stuff was too far. Like I've read the Light Novel too but I try my best to not spoil people. The most im going to do is mention cut content to give people more context, but even then I'm being careful as they might bring up some of that cut content later.

It could be Fortuna possessed another body/elf, but due to being killed by the one she loved became insane and lost her memories (like Petelgeuse did?).

You guys got me making a theory. I think Sirius could be Emilia's aunt that we see in season 2 during the witch trials. You mentioned the eye, but I also think the hair and ears (although bandaged, look like elf ears to me) seem similar. If she was talking about Petelgeese, then I think it possible. Only flaw with this theory is that the aunt died, so I wouldn't know how it could work.

Sirius loved Betelgeuse but Betelgeuse was always more focused on the cult and the ordeal, or more accurately, the witch, so Sirius grew jealous of her. Because of this, Emilia's resemblance to her irks her, because to her it seems that even after his death she's coming to mock her. it's exactly the thought process of someone who is lacking in patience, aka, someone who exudes wrath.

Just wanted to clear up a part that was explained in the episode but there was a lot of dialogue going on so it was hard to read: Sirius connects everyone and then the emotions pass back and forth continously, this is why it builds up and why subaru was paralyzed with fear in when trying to save the kid, the fear kept going back and forth basically multiplying the fear they both felt.

Whenever some fuck shit happens that causes his death, he has no choice but to keep going by trial and error to get the ... error part out of the way so he can figure out the right way of handling the situation. There's no immediate correct way because he can't factor an unpredictable future. Makes me wonder if he should have taken Echidna's contract then maybe solutions would come better, but then again you can't trust that bitch much so Subaru's gotta handle it himself with this physical and mental trauma. That's why nobody should really be annoyed or upset at him for just going at it the way he did after the first death .. that second time, man I knew that was gonna go south immediately and that death looked awful and then the attempt after that one seemed to go fine but even that went horribly wrong and like what Lupa said, there's a timeline now where Reinhart is just standing there traumatized at what he just did. The ED is great too but "Memento" from S2 is still my favourite and one of my favourite EDs in general. Styx Helix was also such a banger. This is bringing back a lot of the anticipation I felt when first seeing Regulus and Gluttony all those years ago. If they didn't wait 4 years between seasons and if the internet wasn't so toxic I think I would have kept that feeling.

They explain a few things better in the LN/WN Reinhardt, is susceptible to her authority but it takes a while & as long as you know of Wrath you will fall under her spell whether you cover your ears or avert your eyes. Oh & Subaru died of cardiac arrest caused by the fear loop between him and lil homie.

Pretty much cooked. Sirius gotta be referring to someone who “isn’t” Emilia, like her aunt or actual mother. My guess (anime only) is that she’s referring to Emilia’s father… The way Sirius speaks about her features seem to be from a sort of third person sort of view; as if she’s not directly referring to Emilia, but rather what she “has” (pretty hair, voice like a bell). I think she’s related to Betelgeuse, as I don’t really believe the maniac we saw in previous seasons would be down for a marriage.

No Sirius is talking about Satella because Petelgeuse before sloth revered Satella (See Emilia backstory s2 when he first saw Emilia and said he found salvation) When Petelgeuse went insane from the witch factor + Pandora, Petelgeuse became obsessed bringing Satella back through an ordeal. However we don't know if the ordeal always a thing when came to Geuse and Emilia but likely in much more different way then outright killing Emilia.

The author never leaves nearly nothing unexplained. Even if sanctuary arc left alone of mystery (which is on purpose) alot of those type of details don't actually get left out. It's why Rezero is a super complex anime/novel series. Nothing gets left out.

Might be a stretch but I think the chick in bandages might be her aunt Fortuna we saw in the second season. She has the same eyes and hair and pointed ears as well. And she did have a somewhat romantic relationship with Betelgeuse before Pandora made him insane and we thought she died. Maybe Pandora made her insane as well. Emilia snuck out as a kid and got caught by the cult so that might be the anger she has towards her combined with the insanity. Just a theory though.

Sorry about everyone insulting you lol, but I respectfully disagree with your opinion. The dialogue is quite clever, I'd say. For example, last episode Reinhard said he could stop Garfiel's punch because his aim was true, because he understood Garfiel was feeling insecure, so he wanted to compliment his skill in some way. There are many things like this and more throughout the series. I love it!

The funny thing about Re:Zero openings is that they always include scenes that never happen in the anime. Garfield never punches the dragon, and Reinhard never faces off against Lust. They sure look cool though.
