that transformation is crazy

Comments

Arcadium

More peak returns, and once again I suffer for another week

Cheesecake

Imagine transforming into a badass but now you feel the most immense depression shits crazy

Raider

Can’t wait for next episode!

Niko

I just hear Tanjiro’s voice now anytime Okuran speaks and it’s so funny to imagine Tanjiro with that dampened mood like wtf 😂😂😂

LiquidXGravity

My favorite part is when Grandma goes "gobble gobble" on that weenie 😈

Hayden Powell

A funny thing about his transformation is that it makes his mind totally clear like an enlightenment. But for okarun that just makes him feel super depressed.

AkdrzlLOL

Another Thursday means another peak episode😮‍💨

Damaton

Clarification: Dandadan is not the sound. I will not explain more.

Haaa?

i already cant wait for the next episode!

Renni .

Episode 3 has a post credit scene just so yall know

Taylor Manatsa

Just to clarify: The title hasn't been confirmed to mean the sound effect but that was a popular theory

RBGTalk

Ngl I'm like 160+ chapters into Dandadan manga and to this day I STILL don't know why Okarun gets depressed after transforming lmao

RahOkami TM
>>152074677

Turbo Granny’s personality mixed with Okarun’s or something along those lines

yahye

F.a.g freaky ass ghost

6CatsInAnAlley

"Bananas" refer to reproductive organs in general so they were after Momo's, not Okarun's

Indifferent Denji
>>152073501

i love how in like 2005 if this was a comment under an anime itd be the most insane shi, but for modern anime this is just peak story telling

Tuny kun

Big fan of the way Momo talks.

Masneomlock
>>152074255

I don't feel like it's as popular now that we've actually had some kind of reference to it in the manga

Valentino Garay

BTW you all should look in google the name of the ghost/aliens shown in the story They are real!

trippersigs22
>>152073806

TBF you CANT explain more. Theres no real explanation of the title other than fan theories(of which this IS one of them).

Benji

also epic callback shoutout to d grayman and allen walker roshi~! Still my fav anime/manga to this day lol

island_boi32
>>152074677

Because his dick is gone so he feels like less of a man, I would be depressed too lol

Lombardi

They got rid of my niggas fade :(

Parlay miles

Who lied to them bout the title lol

SoggySoup

I am really loving the chemistry of these two.

SoggySoup
>>152074166

Thanks for the heads up. Roshi is legally obligated to forget about post credit scenes however.

V STAN

Noice

User100

This show is so good

QualityFreak

Does the beat of the opening song lowkey remind anyone of Dororo's opening?

Tenroku

Ken had +100000 aura points with that transformation lmaoo

trippersigs22
>>152074677

Theres no reason for it its just a personality quirk. Its happens with future characters as well

Kingmakaii

I’m glad I started reading the manga last week

UsrNmTkn

Their relationship is so cute

Mollywopper

Somebody lied to y'all bout the title lmaoo

Sarai

It’s cool the sound effects used just before the transformation sound almost exactly like the Ultraman transformation effects. The black and white gives off that Ultra Q vibe (it’s like a Japanese “Twilight Zone”) Also, the whole thing with aliens and spirits/demons being related makes sense. It’s been said that aliens are supposedly the angels that God cast down from the heavenly realm. There’s many theories out there but it makes sense since aliens are depicted as having “crash landed” on earth in media

Mollywopper

13:00 The way they're drawn right here reminds me of ATLA. Especially momo's eyes

JotaroDrake

Lupa realizing he actually got his meat stolen 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Gilthwixt
>>152074677

You know that scene in Captain America where it's explained the super serum amplifies the user's traits and makes them more themselves, and so Steve became even more heroic while an asshole would've just become more of an asshole? It's kinda like that. As Momo points out Okarun's default state internally is lacking confidence and assuming nothing will work out in his favor. Since you read the manga it shouldn't be a spoiler to discuss this with you, but anyone else, stop reading here. Look at how Aira, Jiji and Unji act while transformed and this should be a bit more obvious. Aira gets really bossy and tries to command the team, and she's always had 100% That Bitch energy. Unji becomes more protective and noble, wasting his limited umbrella power just to be a gentleman. Jiji's is a bit different but I interpret it as him Always wanting to be fun and playful, it's just that his Yokai thinks fighting people is the best kind of fun.

aj
>>152074677

Maybe it's because the spirit being controlled is depressed about being used that way? That's my guess

Gilthwixt
>>152073806

There is confirmation that the title is an actual thing in universe which would eliminate this theory.

Clearice122

lol it funny turbo granny is a real thing but instead of stealing your junk she would cause the person to get in a car crash.

Gilthwixt

One thing I will never get tired of in this series is that Okarun is basically your traditional speedster like The Flash or Quicksilver. Everything he does amounts to "I'm fast as fuck boiii". You never see that in Shounen MCs; the rare times a speedster shows up, they're always side characters or villains because most MCs want to be the strongest or the best at magic or whatever. It's a fun change of pace, literally.

J

Hmm... got the tokyo ghoul kaneki mask and his name is ken... Not very subtle

Z King

Weaponized depression 🤣🤣🤣

DsWorldd •

That berserk level drawing on the still shot of sumo alien burning up wtf😭

Gilthwixt
>>152086112

It's actually just that specific page from the manga, and somehow the author manages this level of detail on a weekly basis.

Phoenix down

lupa fina say freaky ass so much cus of this show lol

GormleyPeach

The talk about the title meaning in the beginning is absolutely wrong LMAO xD

pmreez

God I love the character designs

These Plums
>>152087666

Lol Actually it's pretty close. Dan dan dan is the Japanese equivalent to dun dun dun, according to the Japanese comments on the Crunchyroll trailer.

Josh

Day 33 of my campaign for a Mr Robot reaction.

Nita - Kento's Widow

Got spoiled on his transformation but he looks way too cool.

JohnnySmoke

I wonder if we are getting D.P this week with all the hurricane crazyness

TheMilkMan

"No speaking of your name" M'am? That's my government name, I'm not allowed to use it? Okay, let my Curse take over and I'll gobble that weenie

Ukaede

Not Lupa asking the same irrational questions once again, ghost don't appear at daytime yes lmao

Tay

This is the absolute best new gen trust the process

Gilthwixt
>>152085220

That's usually because they get to be so fast that they should be able to resolve most conflicts easily, and then the writers get stuck on how to make it interesting without turning the speedster into a jobber. Turbo Granny is based on existing folklore with a reasonable upper limit of speed, so that shouldn't be an issue for now.

Ukaede
>>152093060

My take would be that during the day, you can see clearly, so you are pretty much at ease, unlike at night when there is the fear of the unknown so your senses are acting up on you

Ghost_Troupe

Okarun may be the most useless MC I've ever seen lol

damnjerick

Fire episode, loved how the whole fight was in black and white

General Grevious

You knew I’d get set on fire and you let me walk through the barrier anyways😭???

Hi How are ya
>>152101553

cut him some slack yo its episode 2 bro cant even control his powers yet lmao chill. just wait.

Hi How are ya
>>152093060

they can appear in daytime lol, youll see...them mfs just be walking around chilling.

Hi How are ya
>>152076068

relax hes not calling the alien or ghost a fag hes just making a joke about lupa constantly saying freaky ass ghost.

SoyDeans

its actually NOT named after the sfx DAN DAN DANN, people just thought it was that when it originally came out and that was spread around. the name DanDaDan is a combination of a bunch of different kanji from story descriptors that have “dan” in it and the author confirmed it in vol. 1 just wanted to let yall know !

Ghost_Troupe
>>152101553

Nah homeboy didn't even attempt to get out of the way when the alien showed up, literally had to be pulled to safety, then just stood there while homegirl got combo'd into the wall. If a high school girl can have the balls to get punched by a giant alien, he has no excuse. He's male Sakura for now.

big siah
>>152101553

Man how and that's a dumb excuse your compare a popular confident character and depressed character with low self esteem

Champion Bescos

Nahhh, Sheera, that Donald Glover shirt goes fkn hard 😤

Hi How are ya
>>152101553

What are you talking about? Are you forgetting the fact that he is being possessed by a literal demon granny?? Whenever momo stops his body is getting taken over, he wasn’t just standing there he’s fighting a CURSE. And turbo granny is one of the more powerful ghosts so like…chill

WillGlacier
>>152101553

Brother HUHHHH???? He moves at the speed of light at fucking episode 2 and it's his FIRST TIME using his powers. You are buggin'

WillGlacier

Ngl, peak new gen. This shit goes soooooo fucking hard

HAKII

Banana organs aren’t just the Penis it’s also the Ovaries. Serpos(the aliens) don’t know what they’re called so the use a catch all term “Banana Organ” so just Sex Organ. That’s why the Serpo’s in episode 1 talked about them having only males and would take her womb and “banana organ” for research after having sex with her.

Phroug

My fault, I didn't know homegirl had the durability of Son fucking Goku

Ukaede
>>152093060

If you mean in anime world then yeah most likely, but rationally speaking, I don't think so, it just doesn't correlate lol

Beast Boy
>>152101553

You are clearly not watching the same anime or have low IQ. Lets break this down. You want this nigga to help her while shes being pummeled. Yet she's also sealing his powers and curse at the same time. So, what can a regular nigga do exactly??? That's literally why he said to release the curse. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Daniel Turner

24:20 Roshi complaining about his rizz

CornCobBob
>>152118099

I always assumed she used some of her psychic power to tank some of that.

Charli
>>152101553

Considering he A just got his powers and B isn't the only MC? Let this man breath, he just got here.

Didier
>>152118099

I blame it on what I call "early Jump manga chapter syndrome" where shônen authors have to draw DBZ-like fights in order to compete against more hyped mangas in the Jump polls. It's like that chapter/episode of JJK where Megumi gets thrown by Sukuna through a bunch of buildings and doesn't end up dismembered or squashed, forcing the readers/viewers to wrap their heads around it and theorize that maybe it's his bird shikigami that protected him in some way or another. But that's obviously bullshit.

Dexter Blessed
>>152118099

She was definitely using her powers to shield herself. But I have to imagine that it still hurts.

IzanagiAce
>>152118099

@Didler Tbf for JJK there is such a thing as cursed energy reinforcement but probably for animating sake they don't show it being used all the time. Definitely threw me for a loop the first time watching though, your main point is still 100% valid tho

Offw0rlder

Freaky ass granny she a 69 curse, freaky ass granny she a 69 curse Hey hey hey hey run from the slurp 🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀

Xenasta

Yall need to pick up Demon Pord 2099 when you have a slot free up

CAM

I’d just sacrifice someone else’s dick to free myself lol

MGC

think he just has balls rn only or somethin?

Zion Noland

I’m wearing that same shirt Roshi’

IzzyTheWitch

"D.Gray-man? Allen Walker?" THE WAY I SCREAMED 😂 W Roshi for knowing about that gem

hyakimaru dono

If you guys enjoy bizarre shows like this then mawaru penguindrum and sarazanmai will be right up your alley.... I didn't know what I signed up for when I watched them but the weirdo in me enjoyed them. You know it's weird because I only watched these shows once in late 2018 and vividly remember the weirdness and the oddly calm trauma it caused me.

Angelo Marchantt
>>152101553

Why you even assume he the MC, Momo is right there being a beast. Is it cause he male? Also bro, you just daw a glimpse of homie. He possesed, give it time

Severus Alaerth
>>152207007

SARAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Also funny how you mentioned those since penguindrum and sarazanmai have the same director

hyakimaru dono

Also second day requesting midnight (kmovie). The premise is truly interesting and would make for a good reaction either trio or stream

Hi How are ya
>>152093060

But they can in this anime and that’s just facts lol in the manga ghosts appear during the day all the time and it doesn’t affect them at all.

Severus Alaerth

that D.Gray-Man Allen Walker mention by Roshi just further certifies that y'all are OG anime watchers. We been knew that tho that's why we're all here, it's just further proof lol got me smiling when I heard that

Ukaede
>>152093060

Btw the point of my comment wasn't to prove that ghost won't appear during the day, I never read the manga, and like your comment mentioned, they will so it's all good. I was just dead cause Lupa always says the most out of pocket stuff and I had to mention it, thanks for sharing that info tho

DrPlague9

Idk why I just imagine him with just balls 😭😭😭

Nita - Kento's Widow
>>152101553

People are already cooking you (rightfully so) because are you forgetting he partially fought off the possession of Turbo Granny to save Momo from getting violently raped in episode 1? No time to learn anything. I feel like you're just saying this because he's not the trope of "reckless, muscle hero".

Tremaine

I usually don’t watch anime in dub if I’m unless I’m multitasking and this was the one time I actually was they had watch this in dub cause to go from sub-you’re so ugly to dub- BITCH is actually hilarious

PJ Rivera

Re-watched this one again straight heat

Kiril Malakhov

Wow didn't expect the d gray man reference. So you've watched it, eh Roshi?

XxYourWaifuxX Xx

Can’t believe you guys skipped the dope intro

Rishad GB
>>152304021

they dont skip it most times they just keep the first reaction for first ep and cut the rest for the vid

Wes App

Pleaseee react to mr robot at some point

JJ

that tatami galaxy sweater goes hard

Happy Tortilla

I just remember, in Mob psycho there was a "dashing granny" in a tunnel. Is there a legend in japan about her? XD

Chase Daly

He was actually telling Ayase that he wanted her banana organ.

Jak The Rifter

I loved that lo-key reference by Roshi to the reboot series. That’s a throw back for sure.

rayman
>>152093060

yall say that but then the mf transforms during the day at the end
