Please Roshi read this comment from Anon7524: Mentioning this again and probably for the next few episodes going forward since l want to make sure it's seen (yes after this it's practically the exact same message as last EP; yes I saw one person also posted this week earlier asking, but the more comments about it the likelier it is to be seen). Plz after EP 12 of Horimiya go to S2 (EPs1-12) instead of watching EP 13. Ep 13 adapts the legitimate end of the manga, where as S2 takes place for the most part between EPs 11-13, minus the epilogue which is S2 Ep13. That's why it's called the "Horimiya: The Missing Pieces". A lot of other commenters now and I, feel it would be better for reaction content if the ending isn't shown before the second season, as it was only made that way due to uncertainty of continuation for a 2nd cour.

people are saying the final episode of s2 (the missing pieces) is the epilogue, which takes place after s1 ep 13. IDK if it really makes a difference on which final ep you watch first tbh

Man I hated school pastoral care officers (guidance counselors). You could come in with some confidence in your grades and skills for your future and leave anxious and crying that you haven't done your best. And most of the time their negativity just stops kids from pursuing higher goals and wanting to settle. I watched this episode when I was applying for unis in my last year of high-school so I was crying along with his sister lol

I don't think that's a good idea because in the first minutes of s2ep1 they show scenes from s1ep13. If they watch s2 first it would spoil that episode

From what I understand the epilogue isn’t all that special. I think it’s better to watch all of s1 and then Missing Pieces because it feels nice knowing you can watch more Horimiya after S1 *ends*. I’ve watched S2 MP more times than I can count lol

This episode makes me sad cause it's so rough seeing the little sister cry like that. I work with leaders and often I see stuff like that in the office; people putting others down instead of helping them work on what they can to improve. Hurts twice as much when it's a kid that's being hurt though. What a shitty teacher.

I really wasn't expecting to get a focus of Shu this close to the end but I'm glad that they did because there are times people act differently with their family to uphold a certain image and around other people they just let themselves loose. He knows he has to be the responsible type in front of his sister so he doesn't even take the chance to joke around with her.

I love Big Brother Iura's (i)Mo(u)to Moto! That scene with the school counselor always pisses me off. I can understand trying to help temper a student's expectations and working with them to establish good fallbacks but that should be in done in tandem with trying to help said student actually achieve those "aspirational" goals. And yes, it's highly unrealistic of me to think that that happens (especially in some of the US public school systems) but I remember being a absolutely floored when, as a senior in high school many many moons ago, I overheard someone said that the school counselor told them they shouldn't bother to apply to any of the University of California schools because they weren't "good enough" to get in. I was an excellent student on paper and had never even imagined that the very same counselors who seemed to write me off as someone who didn't need their help because I could "get into any school that I wanted" were also so very unhelpful to my classmates who didn't look as good on paper! Ugh.

@AlmaWade yeah thats what I meant, it only garnered attention towards end of the season (which also I think was not enough attention it should have got. For me the show was as good as most of the well known series of the genre like Oregairu, Call of the night etc etc). It didn’t have a hype before its release nor was it headlining during its premiere like,for example, Dandadan or Uzumaki this season, or even Makeine last season. For most parts it went under the radar, probably due to negative apprehension by people about it when they glanced at its name. I mean yeah “too many loosing heroines” seems more interesting concept than “days with my stepsister “ ( stepsister has such negative connotations nowadays in social media). You get what I am saying right😅. Anyways I am glad you weren't unnecessarily passive aggressive in your response , unlike the person above you.

I very very highly recommend you guys watch Welcome To Demon School Iruma-kun. It's such an underrated show with genuinely one of the best dubs out there, they even dubbed all the songs. It's really really good and i think you guys would enjoy it.

Ik this is random, but Iura reminds me of Zenitsu in a way. They are both overly loud, unserious and overbearing, but lock in when they have to.

I swear to god, my high school guidance counselor was probably paid by her alumnus to steer students to them. There was no “guidance” or anything. Although, I probably shouldn’t have expected anything more from a Louisiana school. 12 years after I graduated, and we’re still Tail-end Charlie when it comes to education rankings.

Yes its actually good thing like here in bangladesh we dont have the name thing but we have "tui" "tumi" "apne" these all means "you" if you translate but apne = to elder people (respectfully) tui = close fnds / younger siblings tumi = generally used or used for someone you know a bit more if you tumi to an elderly stranger they are gonna get confused why you are saying that and if say tui to an elderly literally people around you will start looking at you like you wanting to start a fight And we also CAN NOT EVER call someone by their name if they are older than us ...we have to call them "john vaia" which means "mr.john/ brother john" or "uncle john" cause calling an older person only by their name (unless they are a friend or sibling) is directly disrespectful here im pretty sure some other asian countries also has this I dont know why english language doesn't have these since saying "you" to my close ones plus elderly or younger strangers just seems off to me cause you cant really identify the relationship or bond or respect there

Never thought I'd come on here and see someone explaining the different forms of address and levels of respect we have in the Bengali language/culture lol. There are other details as well, like how "bhai" is just the normal way of calling someone brother, but if you call someone "bhaiyya" it's more loving/cute, etc etc

I'm in the U.S. and it doesn't get any better in college either with the advisors for certain departments. I was a STEM major and remember this one advisor that was so mean and nasty, some poor girl went into her office an anxious mess and left crying :( Another time in the library, someone left printouts telling students not to give up/lose hope, bc they got into medschool despite their advisor telling them they wouldn't make it.

To be fair Toru also never revealed it to Sakura when she confessed her liking him, both yuki and Toru were still fake dating during this as well so it wasn’t a complete lie, it was messed up for yuki to do what she did, but Toru would’ve rejected Sakura anyway, let’s be honest their relationship wasn’t anything crazy, all Toru did was compliment Sakura once and she fell from instantly while for Toru that just seemed like the normal thing to do.

It’s unfair but it’s the sad truth, not everyone does well in modern day school, I always struggled with school and almost failed 12th grade, but I’ve always been extremely smart at every job I’ve worked, because of my personality and quick-creative thinking, I hate books and writing but when it comes to a task that has to do with moving my body or critical thinking I can do it, one thing I remember my counselor telling me in 12th grade was “HOW DID YOU PASS ALL YOUR END OF THE YEAR EXAMS BUT ALMOST FAILED ALL OF YOUR CLASSES?” I know I’m smart but just not in the way schools were designed for

Danmachi has been poll'd a few times before and lost, but i believe after wistoria we might have another shot if enough people recommend it, iirc Roshi brought something up about it but im not 100.

YES. I've been asking for that since last year. It was on the poll last fall but lost to Apothecary Diaries which makes sense. I'm hoping we can get that next for a duo since S2 is coming this Winter and because it's also a battle anime with a power system and everything. It'll be a bit different than the high school romcoms they're probably tired of

The first and last name thing actually is very simple. It is the same as here. Let’s say your name is Ben Parker and someone you aren’t close to refers to you as Parker like “hey Parker did you finish ___? Hey Parker have you seen ____”. When that person becomes friends with you, it would be mad weird if they are still referring to you as Parker rather than you name Ben.

Miyamura is still uncomfortable with calling Tooru by his first name, so Yanagi doing it easily (and Tooru returning the effort) made him a little jealous and kind of childishly possessive. Yanagi caught onto that pretty quickly which is where the "I won't take them away" came from. This is why Miyamura pulled a Hori and got embarrassed -- he got exposed lol

Its definitely not normal... but almost my entire friend group refer to each other by last name. Its not even a weeb thing, we've been doing it since freshman year, and the occasional new friend after HS fell into the pattern too. We even go so far as to add Mr. sometimes.
