LETS GO!

Anthony Chase

This show is pretty awesome! Wondering what it will mean for the city of Gotham in The Batman Sequel.

Jamaal Ellison

I really hope we get a season 2 and I really want Sofia to live I know Oz is the protagonist but I'm rooting for them both.

bleach

I love that Oz is being a villain

John Smith

Fun ep, but kinda dumb how Maroni could just walk outta prison with his stomach half gouged out lol

Yoxxhio
>>153084605

not really that hard to believe, he has people on the inside for sure. and his stomach wasn't half gouged out he was stabbed

Arthyrious

Salvatore telling Oz he’s cooked my favorite part of this episode😭

King of New York

THIS SHOW IS SO PEAK. I really love how they're basically showing Gotham's shift from organized crime to supervillains and "freaks" in this universe so naturally. Very reminiscent of The Long Halloween comic. Also, I said it before, but I love Oz being a villain. He's compelling and has strong motivations, but at the end of the day he's a dirty gangster in a dirty city and he's a twisted bad guy. This is a villain show and he's the villain. A really sick detail I picked up on was that last episode Penguin was giving the big speech about how Vic should not let anyone interrupt him while he's speaking, but at the end of the last episode and in this one he interrupts Vic several times while he's stuttering. It just shows that although Oz thinks he has a moral compass and thinks he's just doing what he needs to do, he'll throw all his ideals out the window in order to save his ass when he's stressed and shit hits the fan. I think by the end of the show, either Eve, his mom, or both will die. Also they mentioned Rex Calabrese again...it makes me wonder if it's gonna be revealed that he's still alive. In the comics he was retconned to be related to an important character. Maroni being married to Nadia and having his Italian mob replaced with Iranian members is also really interesting.

Malik

I don’t trust Julian. He’s too eager to me. I’m not buying his act. Sofia needs to clap him like she did Viti.

Indifferent Denji

Actually the Chief Bock is one of the few cops who arent corrupt you guys are confusing him with the other guy who arrested sofia. He would've been attacked by riddler if he was

King of New York
>>153084510

I hope so too. I'm really not sure what's going to end up happening to this universe now because of the DCU. This show is supposed to lead DIRECTLY into The Batman Part 2, and it's been confirmed that they're going to make a Part 3. I'd prefer if they just said that this is in the past of the new DCU and whoever they cast to play Gunn's Batman is just an older version since we know that he's going to be older anyways. Otherwise all the great world building they're doing will be packed away after just one trilogy and a show.

Divinerights
>>153084605

in addition to Yoxxhio, he literally said he had the keys, PLUS its Arkham, notorious not only for its inmates but how often people escape it

Jamaal Ellison
>>153084510

Well, I know Colin Ferrell hated the makeup and prosthetics so that's another reason why I'm concerned this'll be a limited series.

King of New York
>>153084605

Maroni is like the #2 mob boss so I let that slide, but the one thing that I was like "bruh" about was the fucking guard saying "This is from Oz", when he's going to shank him. Why would you say that when your job is to kill him anyway???😭 Now since he survived he KNOWS it was Oz who sent the hit on him. Dumbass guard.

BCoop

Police chief is the same guy in The Batman...with the annoying voice

Djones

Pretty sure Sophia is gonna get the girls from the club and interrogate the blonde one specifically which would reveal information about Vic to her, which in turn will reveal their location. Sophia might kill Oz's mother. I think this is when Oz will probably see Vic as a hinderance more than a solider.

Carlos

Fun fact. The police chief is actually Mogh from Elden Ring. He'll beat allegations of corruption like he beat the Moghlester allegations.

Djones
>>153084510

Yeah, this is a limited series, probably created with the intention to completely put Oz in the villain category. Right now, he's still in a grey area, but after the series, he'll be a complete antagonist for Batman.

Expired Breast Milk

Damn Sheera was so right my bad, Oz DOES underestimate her, and I kind of understand why since she's never demonstrated the capacity to do what she did in the mansion beforehand.

Verna69-08

It's crazy how I thought about penguins base of operations before the release of Ep 5. I can't wait to see it up and running.

My

Deadass tho😂😭bro always gonna be shades

bleach

The fact that is Mr.Krabs makes Roshi's comment that much funnier

Frederick

34:17 Damn on the blood though. You could have at least thrown it on the ground 😂

CuteAdorableDog

man y'all gotta watch andor the same way y'all are enjoying this series y'all will for andor

Percy

Vic needs to get and learn to use a Blick

Expired Breast Milk

Funny how Viti was like 'I'll have you killed' when he had all the power over her. Now that the roles are reverse he's talmbout but I cared about your mother like ????

Ernie

excuse me, but isnt batmans hideout/cave in the subway station under ground?

Fred_D3

Sofia bringing socialism into organised crime is nice but I don’t see how it’ll work coz someone with more money can just buy her goons, or some of em can just take the wad of cash they just got & book a flight to china or somethin

HIM

I'm just praying for a similar Turn-Up for Oz to how it went in Gotham (tv series). No spoilers, but it led to Him standing alone on top of Gotham.

Jon Fejes
>>153084197

It's good for sure. I'm rooting for Two-Face for the sequel. He's grounded enough to work in this universe, fits in to the whole "gangsters give way to supervillains" thing and I think the Riddler killed Gotham's DA in the first movie? Not sure about that. People have been saying Court of Owls but I don't think they'd be interesting enough.

Jon Fejes
>>153084510

I don't think they ever planned on a season 2. DCU plans shouldn't affect this, though, it's out of DCU continuity so they can do whatever.

Shane John-lewis
>>153088356

Probably because he knew she wasn't the hang man so he didn't think she had that dawg in her 😂

Michael Blake
>>153093156

Yeah he uses those tunnels to get around Gotham quickly on the bike. This is going to go very bad for Penguin in the next movie.

Delinda Arts

bangin on TikTok is actually crazy lmao

Lezu

23:16 She didn't smell the gasoline?

Lezu
>>153093156

Thought that was Dark Knight. Unless they showed that in The Batman, which I am forgetting. Batman is still early on in his career. He eventually expands his batcave to multiple locations.

Seany Park
>>153093156

Yes and I have a theory about that. In the comics, The Penguin somewhat becomes an informant for Batman. Batman realizes crime will never go away so instead he lets Penguin do his thing as long as he doesn't cause chaos and feeds him information about other crimes going on. Batman rather deal with Penguin and his crime syndicate than deal with a chaotic gang war.

Franklin Saint
>>153093156

Yea Bruce"s batcave is a large system of underground caves and caverns located deep in the Wayne Terminus and underneath Wayne Tower. But yea penguin new hideout connects and reaches the whole Gotham city

Franklin Saint
>>153093156

Imagine Bruce is going on a stroll underground and just runs into ozs hideout underground 😭

Jamaal Ellison

Nadia's voice sounds like audible sandpaper every time she talks.

Franklin Saint

I already know so Sofia and Sal are gonna get cook by the time ep 8 ends 💀😭

Delinda Arts

Julian: Sophia: Damnit, Julian! Don't you get it?? To save the goons, I gotta feed the goons!

Franklin Saint

I swear idk if I want to call Julian (crazy therapist) shades or juice 💀😭

H A Y D E N

ozwald, ruthless underdog my goat since the gotham program from way back

Franklin Saint

If you guys remember that’s the chief police officer from the Batman movie I remember you guys was making fun of that man’s voice 😭

Reckless Company

Oz got back up plans to his back up plans and 😂😂he’ll be fine

Fred_D3
>>153093998

Yh & killing Johnny vitti might’ve been a worse decision because someone needs to acc run the operations of the family like •cleaning the money they generate from the shrooms, •listing ppl in power for potential blackmail •hiring new goons to replace the ones that were also gassed in the mansion •putting money in stocks & other investments so they don’t go broke overpaying their pawns Yh I don’t see her making it to Batman 2 being this generous to the employees

Jazko

Imagining Batman beating the dogshit outta Vic before he questions him

DJ Muldrow

“Damn you feeling it now Mr.Krabs” this nigga roshi 😭😭

Michael Kaiser

never would've taught a penguin show would have me so invested lol ts wild

yoyo

the peakuin ep 5

Red Death

Oz said his mom keeps him good. Which means she has to die in order for him to be a true crime boss. I wanna see that ruthless side of Oz.

Franklin Saint
>>153111344

Same I wanna see ruthless oz for sure consider he already is one but probably worse if his mother died

Mario Carranza

I don't see how Oz wins this. But this might mean that we get a finale where they're about to kill him and then Batman comes out of nowhere and takes all the other mobs out.

GrandNubian
>>153111344

out of curiosity: in what way could Oz be MORE RUTHLESS than burning a mother and son alive and stoically admiring his handiwork while they scream in agony?

GrandNubian
>>153093998

paying someone "what they are worth" (in other words, paying someone commensurate for the value they provide) is CAPITALISM, not socialism. WTAF.

SnailSpray

kinda sad they never mentioned or maybe remembered that Batmans Batcave is also hidden out in the underground abandoned subway tunnels

GrandNubian
>>153114283

Oz wins because of plot armor: the series is named after him and he's an iconic villain for Batman. Batman is NOT appearing in this series. Besides, why would Batman take sides in a mob war?

GrandNubian
>>153085062

if Rex Calabrese is still alive, did he fake his death or did Oz lie about a parade being held in his honor after his death?

GrandNubian
>>153084605

I could easily see Oz instructing the guard to tell Sal that Oz ordered the hit -- Oz is an obviously prideful person and would want Sal to know who bested him.

GrandNubian
>>153084510

This is a limited series intended to serve as a bridge between The Batman and The Batman 2. There will not be a Season 2, unfortunately.

King of New York
>>153085062

I think it’d be him faking his death. Oz’s admiration for him seems extremely genuine and important for his character.

GrandNubian
>>153084510

a film trilogy and a season of TV is a LOT of space for world-building -- much more than most get

Joseph Tom

There actually was a snippet at the end thats previews the next ep which was cool

Blue

btw that cop that was talking to her was in the batman, he was the one that was against batman at first

hyakimaru dono

Whenever I see certain reallife things (I'm sure there's a better word for it) in a movie that takes me out the magic (why would the clock app be in Gotham😭)... for me it's like seeing Starbucks in house of thrones or Harry Potter... it just don't meshh

Moonbane8

i think penguin is going to make a comeback by being like his hero. He's going to show love to crown point and crown point is going to show love back.

Alex
>>153097775

Gasoline doesn't smell unless there are additives. Maybe it was pure gasoline.

Co
>>153155447

For me, it depends on the setting of the show. Harry Potter is set in a mythical world that by definition, isn't realistic. So, seeing Starbucks would be off-putting. Gotham is literally in New Jersey. I live in New York. I could take the train and get there in a little over an hour. So, when I see real world items like smart phones, Instagram, and TikTok, it actually makes the place more realistic, which is a good thing because that's the point.

Jean-Luc Baca

“You feeling it now Mr Krabs” when Sal is literally the voice actor for Mr Krabs

Nico

I feel you Lupa, I was BEYOND annoyed she dumped most of that money in the blood.

Mustardy Boi
>>153087012

I don't see why Oz would be mad at Vic in that case, if anything he'll probably kill the blonde chick for being a rat

Djones
>>153087012

Well Sheera made this point a long time ago: Oz is impulsive and not very smart when he thinks someone has betrayed or let him down. Additionally, from a writing perspective, they focused a lot on Victor saying that he can protect his mother to prove himself. Again, this is just a theory, what do I know? 😂

Mustardy Boi
>>153084197

Maroni would have to live through this season if they were to go with a comic accurate version of Two-Face's origin, they don't have to of course, but I figured it could be a possibility since Maroni is a prominent character already

Adrian Neal

Dawg this fucking cop’s voice got me crying

Adrian Neal

Bro Sofia and this therapist nigga is literally just Joker & Harley

Fred_D3
>>153093998

The grunts weren’t there as volunteers before Sofia took over lool paying them exorbitantly MORE money isn’t a good idea no matter how u slice it

Adrian Neal

Nigga Oz gonna walk down the wrong tunnel and Bruce gonna be down there crying over a picture of Selina

Ian Mercado

How is this show this good?

East_Coast_Overseer

I could also see Oz end up recruiting Squid since he deals in this area and knows all the connections... and Squid ends up having to work under Victor as a twist of fate.

john segun doe

Sheera: WHY SHE TAKE SOO LONG? Me: -_- Cuh she old Roshi (1 sec later): -_- cuh she old LMFAOO

hyakimaru dono
>>153155447

🙃🙃 it's certain things... you know what I meant and just wanted to be rude... okay. well done, gold star 🌟 🤩

hyakimaru dono
>>153155447

I did not know that lol... I just watch whatever they watch and my level of knowledge of batman starts at the batman vs superman movies to the cool serious version of teen titans (so not alot). Also I barely remember all the details from the movie just key points ( I watched it with these guys too lol so even less paying attention and more laughing at jokes)

hyakimaru dono
>>153155447

(Sorry for the paragraph) Yes for me that first bit sums it up nicely... I'm not American so for me Gotham is fictional from fiction land even if its "set in the real world"... I don't know how to really describe what it is. It's like seeing a Ford in a movie about dinosaurs or reading a book and seeing the words ticktock even though the book is set in a high-school where kids would use it.. because its still fictional seeing something so real takes me out. Someone responded being petty but things like phones or food don't count. It's about certain things...not everything.

Max maxwell

thats the cop from the batman, he is the chief of police. If i remember correctly he was not a dirty cop.

Derrick

Sheera cooked with that Sal read

JotaroDrake

Show should’ve had blood on the money by future as the end credits song😂

Leo

Sheera was really cooking this episode especially with the Oz and Sofia similarity callout and money over everything roshi and lupa cooked too. The scene of Oz watching Sal wife and son burn just confirmed what I already knew he's pure evil except to the people he loves he was enjoying the hell out of them burning. He was also just about to tell his girl about his mother so he actually cares about her and Victor I think but at the end of the day everyone's disposable to him . I kind of want to see what the court of owls in this universe would look like also my guess to where the hell batman is he went and found Selina and he said naw Gotham ain't it or he big chillin with his fellow rich folk looking through the drapes shaking his head.
