roshi is absolutely right with logan he is 100% a troll. he knew the words in the game but he playing into the “sick role”. when ewan said “you look terrible” when they first spoke, logan responded with “well i am incredibly ill” i think he playing everyone. all he does is test his kids and manipulate them to do what he thinks they should do or to show them the error of their ways.

Roshi is seemingly always the most rational of the three but they have such a nice contrast of opinions and general attitudes that it works so well. I don't see how what Grace did was wrong. If someone needs to have their ego stroked to such a degree that the success of a shit movie pisses you off so much that showing that movie to children on Thanksgiving infuriates you, you have issues. Especially when the only thing Roman provides is money. He doesn't offer anything else at this point in the story because he's an emotionally stunted, sycophant with daddy issues.

Logan just genuinely has lapses of memory that return at weird times, he’s still not that far into his recovery. Think Lilia without the magic. Yes, he was initially trolling because he was irritated, but he just didn’t have the cognizance to remember the items during the game and only remembered later on that night.

exactly. he’s been too competent. he wouldn’t deliberately make himself look incompetent to the degree of straight up nonfunctional in front of his entire family and business associates who have already proven to be willing to backstab him professionally at any sign that he’s off of his game. they put emphasis on him saying the words to highlight that he CAN still be sharp and intelligent, not that the whole thing was a gambit. plus, he was still very obviously slurring and struggling with his motor skills throughout that interaction.

that was just him in a more coherent moment. that’s why marcia was so happy. he was in and out of it the whole episode. absolutely fine in his office until he pours the coffee. for someone with so much self-respect he wouldn’t make himself look weak or foolish in front of his coworkers or family. his actions are embarrassing. but he’s ill so he kind of gets away with it anyway.

I’m not saying Grace doesn’t have free will or a backbone to make her own choices (and I only made it to…early S3 myself, last I remember? I don’t recall a lot of details), but you do kind of also have to factor in that all of the Roy kids have extreme financial and social leverage over their partners, flings, etc. As we saw with the news anchor lady who got pressured into being Ken’s date. So it’s not necessarily always as simple as “if he’s that much of an asshole, just leave”.

for the Greg / Tom / Gerri who said what about what to do with the documents, I’ll say this right now, since it applies to the whole show. In Succession, there are no off screen twists or secret convos or plots that get revealed way down the line. What you see is what you get. If there is a twist it’s getting tee’d up and revealed in the same episode.

Yeah he said he was gonna buy local TV during the game because he had been thinking a lot about buying local TV that day, not to troll Ken. He was tweaking out for a sec. And he recited the items from the game Marcia to prove to himself and her that he hasn’t lost it yet. Bear in mind Marcia is the only family member that Logan lets be a part of his physical and cognitive therapy recovery sessions. Marcia is the only family member we really see Logan be vulnerable around.

Logan does troll but you can tell he was struggling when he said the tv bit. Later on when he repeated the phrase he wanted to make sure he could do it cause he knows how sick he is. He does a lot to fuck with Kendall but the show outright shows you how. I think he was just clapped.

idk i think he’s been sus of everyone around him and questioning everyone’s intentions and by acting that way it gives him an opportunity to see the “snakes in the grass” and without spoiling anything if the board meeting next episode were to hypothetically go logan’s way, it would expose everyone who doubted and moved against him. and if he was THAT concerned about looking a certain way strength wise i feel like he could’ve tried harder to keep it a secret.

I mean, the writing's been on the wall since the first episode that Logan probably has onset dementia, right? When he got up in the middle of the night in the opening scene and couldn't find the bathroom and just peed on the floor. Who knows, maybe part of that was just him being a dick, but there was no one else around to see that, so I took it more as he woke up and was super disoriented rather than him just being weird. But then this episode with him zoning out pouring the coffee, and even him not being able to remember the memory game at the end and hitting the kid out of frustration. It is super common for dementia patients to become frustrated with their lack of understanding of a situation and occasionally become violent as a result. I'm saying this as someone around dementia patients regularly (my grandmothers are both in LTC homes), Logan reminds me of them in the early stages.
