So what's cool is that Gunn cast most of these actors with the intention that they could cross over into live action. He wants cohesion across his universe. Likewise if say, Superman were to appear in a future animated series set in the DCU he would be voiced by the actor playing him in Legacy.

Also keep in mind, James Gunn said that all voice actors in DCU animated projects will be cast so they can also portray them in live action. Rick Flag Sr. played by Frank Grillo is already confirmed to be in the new Superman movie.

James Gunn has already said all the actors in live action will also voice act anything animated or in the games as well! So the voice actors here will also be the live action version of themselves!

That is the plan for now... but I can easily see this becoming complicated as the universe grows and people's schedules get super busy. We've already seen one issue with this with Rick Flag Sr. being unable to have white hair live action in the upcoming Superman because Frank Grillo has another project going on simultaneously and the quick dye job they tried to do didn't look good enough. That's a minor cosmetic thing, but with bigger name actors it's gonna harder to work around. I admire them for their effort in trying to do this.

If anyone’s wondering why they connected it to the old DCEU slightly and not have it entirely brand new, after Disney temporarily fired James Gunn, he came to make The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker and Creature Commandos which were like one big arc. By the time he was hired as CEO of DC Studios, he had already written Creature Commandos so he just decided to make that the first project. He didn’t want to just throw away everything he had done, so he’s saying that anything referenced in the new projects from Creature Commandos onwards is canon. He said all of Peacemaker aside from the DCEU Justice League cameo is canon, and they’re going to explain that in Peacemaker S2. Bit messy but that’s just how things go. Not too bad.

I don't know if anyone had said this but James Gunn is using the actually actors that he'll use in the movies as their voice over counterparts as well. So basically if you hear a voice you recognize, you'll most likely see them as the character later on a well.

honestly James Gunn has his own accusations, so hopefully they pick up R&M and not let accusations sway their thoughts. Ofcourse they have built up something amazing these last 5+ years so its understandable to want to protect that brand, since they can receive alot of criticism for enjoying a show
