What I about Isagi and Rin is that they are always learning when they lose and win, stay with me now. Isagi lost to rin in the 2nd selection bc Rin understood what ‘luck’ is and after learning about it from him and Ego Isagi was able to get the game winning goal with ‘luck’ Sae tried to beat Rin with the EXACT same move(s) he used when they had their 1v1 in the snow, Rin lost back then but won here and u can even see the realisation on Rin’s face right before sae tries to nutmeg him. All the characters in BL learn from their encounters no matter what (Rin/Isagi being the focus rn tho) and I love the self awareness of these characters

Rin is obviously the overall better player by far compared to Isagi but the one thing that Ego and Sae is looking for is someone who can turn the tides of a match with a single goal. The only area that Isagi is better at than Rin is having the instincts it takes to get you to the goal.

That's definitely what the kid is used for, showing that Blue Lock is now genuinely being recognized outside of just being some high schoolers. Granted this is further shown down the line with manga stuff, but it's the start of them actually being respected and praised.

Man this season was definitely something lol. Despite the ups and downs tho I really did enjoy myself. Would I still recommend reading this game in the manga over watching the season? Yes, but they did the best they could given those time constraints. Ima need them to take the time with S3 tho cause the NEL has some of the hypest moments in BL and it's wrapping up pretty soon.

I really like how Sae emphasizes how Rin will never be the best if he is chasing his brother. He is easily the most talented in blue lock and he has the IQ. But his mind is so unstable because he plays to get back at his brother. Rather than playing to be the best

Some might not have realized but, that wasn't a pass from Rin to Isagi. He legit just blocked the ball & Isagi happened to be there. That's why Rin was shocked as well. It was a callback to when Rin scored the winning goal against Isagi in the 4v4 after he blocked a shot & it just happened to land by Rin. Rin was upset about that game because he said he only won because of "luck". Which was the piece Isagi used to score the winning goal like it happened to him.

Mostly agree but why are people forgetting the frame lock moments from season 1? Obviously season 2 was about a good 2 tier downgrade to what we got from season 1 but season 1 second half had its issues as well. Season 3 would be better than both combined (minus the finale) if it gets the animation it deserves

I am manga reader so I am caught up, but like if y’all can only communicate through soccer and he isn’t giving you the light of day otherwise. Like you’re going to hate the game if you don’t manage to beat him. Remembering these are still kids going through this kind of stress. You gotta want to do this for you, can’t have something else be the only drive force.

I loved so many details on this, like the "snowing pieces" referencing Sae vs Rin's showdown but with puzzle pieces because ISAGI IS THERE picking eveything. Like Roshi pointed, the direction was incredible, to the point where I really thought Blue Lock was going to lose once the screen got wide and Sae started Saeing. That's a great example of how to make the viewer feel what the characters feel. The dispair of seeing their best player have the last ball and not being able to stop him, Rin's mind break, the adrenaline after Isagi's goal, the hype while hearing the fans chant Isagi's name, even Ego's fist clench. Man's hopes were hanging on a thread.
