I have no sympathy for anyone who decided to play the games, because they made that choice, at the end of the day, it's yes or no, and they said yes. And one thing I do not like is putting the MC on a pedestal like he did nothing wrong. He came back to the games, knowing that people would have to die for him to win, he knew this. And then during the games he still killed people. That is why in season 1 my favorite character was sang woo (sorry for spelling it wrong) because he was the realest person their, he knew exactly what type of person he had to be to win the games, and did not hide behind a mask. And I know if he would have won, yes he would have been guilty, but he would have instantly helped out all the people, instead of wasting years looking for the game masters, and then deciding to help the people you were supposed to years later.

Gi-hun got some mad cognitive dissonance going on right now. He knows firsthand the desperation that drives people to want to stay. Despite having voted to leave initially in season 1, he came back, just like everyone else, because his real-world circumstances left him with no better options. By trying to dissuade others from participating, he’s essentially asking them to make a decision that he himself could not make when faced with similar desperation. Now after revealing that he has won before, and inadvertently signaling to these people that winning is achievable, Gi-hun’s presence has created a misguided sense of security among the players, as if his experience or knowledge of the games could somehow increase their chances of survival. It allows these people that probably might have took their money and left to justify staying in the game by clinging to the belief that they, too, can defy the odds, even as they ignore the inevitable deaths required for the prize money to grow and for them to win. Just sad all around.

I think you're supposed to have sympathy for the fact that people live in such desperation and danger that they would rather willingly subject themselves to this hell than return to their normal lives...like, people have had gangsters chase after them to remove their organs and eyes...I don't care how much money you owe someone, that's a fucked up reality that we're all just accepting gets inflicted on our fellow humans. That's kinda the core message of the whole show imo and ironically it was kind of what the Front Man said through the pig speaker last episode: Unless something changes, it will continue. The games can go on because of this dystopian hellscape that we continually buy into and don't change creates these kinds of unwinnable situations in people's lives, where they feel like there is no escape except through getting lucky and somehow acquiring massive wealth.

I didn't matter if the front man played red light green light because in season 1 when the old man was playing, he was immune to the motion sensor. I like more this system. In the first game, even if some people didn't care if they died, it was really unlikely to survive all the 6 games and win the prize. Now, even if in the next game half of the players die, you still have serious chances of surviving that game and leaving with a bigger prize, especially if you are fit/intelligent/cold

Don't get me wrong - some ppl in the game are nasty/greedy (player 100, thanos etc) But a lot of the people there are in debt of 1 billion won MINIMUM so leaving after the first or even second game wouldn't even make a dent in the debt. I really like this new format though this season (voting after each game etc) - it really highlights the importance of community and the fallacy of autonomy under capitalism. At the end of the day some of their decisions may be dumb/selfish but it will always be the fault of 001/ the VIPs for setting this up. Under capitalism we live in a world where someone could have such a ridiculous amount of wealth and rather than helping people - they make them fight and suffer for entertainment (beast games etc)

Man, it really shows how much the people and their interactions make this show great. The showrunners already got to reuse a bunch of the sets from the first season (main room with the beds, stair maze, red light/greenlight field), and it gives us this sense of familiarity. But the tension is still at 11 with the writing and acting.

I don't get the reasoning of the people. Having a previous winner, if he helps you all survive to the end, doesn't get you more money. If everyone survives, it's the same as quitting. Or more realistically, 50 making it through is wild to think you will be the one to make it, but I guess thats almost 1 billion won of cash, it'll make a dent in the debt but not pay off most of theirs completely.
