The worst part about games like this failing are that even though its the fault of the producers for shitty ideas and horrible management skills, the individual devs always seem to get the blowback. I saw some gameplay animator posting their work on twitter as a portfolio piece and the comments are just filled with vitriol and harassment over someone who is LITERALLY NOT AT FAULT for the games character designs

They likely had already made the episode before the game flopped. They would’ve lost money if they just dropped it at this point, so it was better to let it play and hope for the best. And hey, it was way better than the game, so I don’t think it was the worst decision.

If they hadn’t been chasing the hero shooter fad, and instead gone with a story driven rpg like this episode’s story, people might’ve been able to ignore the boring characters, and it would’ve gotten a minor cult following. But both boring characters and a mostly exhausted genre? That wasn’t going to make it.

Would have been a great single player story based game. Shame it didn’t pan out. What’s worse is, the gameplay was pretty solid it’s just people were a little tired of the random hero shooter and the internet bros were complaining it was too colorful to diverse (mind you it was a bunch of aliens) etc. then Marvel Rivals comes out and suddenly everyone loves a hero shooter again. Gamers suck ass.

if we are going to be brutally honest about the subject. Overwatch only had a couple things going for it. 1. gameplay 2. Character design. gameplay is important for obvious reasons but once you dont have that anymore what are you left with? just character design and most of your playerbase vanishes leaving you with nothing but gooners and perverts. the kind of people who make/consume overwatch nsfw. Right now Marval Rivals has both gameplay and character design; snatching both of overwatch's playerbase along with a new playerbase, Marvel fans and its actually fun to play? thats why its on top

Most of Concords characters are human. And the gameplay was insanely slow. What really killed it though was the price. Nobody is going to pay $40 when the competition is better and free.

Nah, they tried to go for the valorant/CSGO playerbase and those games are fucking goliaths. The vast majority of games that try that will get shot down unless they are fantastic.

Concord was an alright game but it was damn near unplayable. The character designs were whack like actually besides maybe the dude with the revolver and the big blue dude but that was it everyone else was trash. The color pallete for the game was whack. The game did not intrigue me in anyway. I find those to be a good reason why the game shutdown after not making back 400m

Also the credits for this game might the longest credits for a game ever 2 hours. It shows how many people are invested in the game compared to other games where the credits will be like 10-20 mins

Facts the game was just bad, it is not about people hating hero shooters or it being 40 bucks bad game's fail, that's it a good game will never shut down 8 days after it comes out.
