This is Harry's karma. Brian and Dexter are like this because of what he did. He's not a hero and he did the bare minimum at best to be a great parent for any of his children. I mean you kept pressing his mom and she kept telling you to call it quits which led to her being murdered and you had an affair with her. The only good thing he did is to make sure that Dexter wasn't a seriel killer that killed innocents that's it 🤷. Harry's decisions led them both to the life the led and then blames them for turning out this way when he kept making it worse.

They made a point of showing that he was already developing serial killer tendencies before the incident, he was repeatedly killing lizards by ripping off their tails. Dozens of them. I think they tried to show that the incident made them who they are but Brian was already predisposed to not feeling empathy. But of course what he witnessed was the vast majority of the reason for how he turned out.

It would to Spencer. He said his wife was cheating on him for 14 years which would mean Nicky's birth would coincide with the timeline of her affair. Also A positive is a very common blood type 34% of people have it. So he and the new step dad could share the same blood type (the probability that 2 random people selected from the USA have the same blood type is 40% so it won't be uncommon). Spencer was just convinced Nicky wasn't his without verifying because of the timeline of his wife's infidelity.

They never specified what blood type it was so we could assume it's like Dexter and his dad in the show where it's a rare blood type and that's why Aaron and Nicky's blood type was a match cementing his parentage as Nicky father because the odds of them of having the same blood type would be extremely low if he wasn't his dad. ( Nevermind they said the blood is A+ that's pretty common) My thing is this man is so unhinged and has had access to this boy for 14 years. I'm taking some of his hair and his toothbrush and doing a test and going about my day. Like come on 🫴 you didn't even try to check to make sure 🤦

Hope you plan to do reactions to Dexter: Resurrection, which is coming out this summer. The cast is pretty stacked - Uma Thurman and Peter Dinklage (AKA Tyrion Lannister) are both in the show, and it's going to be set in New York City. Showtime hasn't actually made a decision yet about the future of this show (Original Sin), and Patrick Gibson (Dexter) said he'd definitely be up for it if it happens. There's a pretty big time gap before the events of the first season of the original show take place - this show is set in 1991, and the first season of Dexter was set in 2006. They could definitely give us more of Brian's backstory over the 15 years between this and the original series, and those who have seen the original show know where that story goes.

Honestly this show carries really well into Dexter S1 which is a really good self contained story, I would love to see Lupa react to just that season at least.

I thought Dr. Vogel developed the code with Harry when Dexter was a child and first showing signs of antisocial behavior (unaliving smaller animals). Perhaps it would make sense to introduce her through flashback scenes kind of like they did with Laura Moser this season.
