MIDKEY I WAS HOPING FOR A SURPRISE SHOW UPLOAD (LIKE PICKING A SHOW FROM THURSDAY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT)

KomodoughDragon

Fridays can't come soon enough, I'm so excited for the final two eps of this cour and all of next cour. The story about the monk is an actual folktale and I love the way they animated it, it was definitely pretty freaky to read in the LNs. After the past few episodes giving us info about the late emperor, it's sad to think about just how many young girls (now older women) are still locked up in the rear palace never to be released. Just trauma on top of trauma for them.

corLeonis

Cant wait for the next episode!! 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸

Guav

goast stories is the name of the dubbed anime you should watch

King of New York

Show is so peak. I've loved all the reveals this season and the mysteries they've been cooking are still super interesting. I like that we're getting so much of the former Emperor's backstory.

Coatl45

Most likely, that ghost tried to kill those 11 girls so she wouldn’t be alone in haunting that place.

poisonivybag

It really stops you to think how many young girls were brought to the rear palace during the previous emperor's time just for his pdf needs, after which they could NEVER leave the palace. Like once you had had "relations" (aka you were assaulted) with the emperor, you had to stay there for the rest of your life. When we see older women working at the palace, they're essentially all there because of that (aside from ladies in waiting). You'd think that there would have been more attempts at the royalty's life from sheer vengeance 👀

Gilthwixt

Y'all, I am just now realizing how fast this season is going by. This episode was part of the most recent volume available in English when the first season premiered; at the rate we're going, the anime is gonna overtake the Manga by the season finale.

I mean. That's basically the whole show lol. How many attempted murders/abortions has Maomao foiled at this point?

Charcoal

The thing I love about this show is that even though this initially feels like a filler episode, I know for a fact that it’s gonna circle back and end up being important later down the line. A-Class writing

I dont believe this was among the most recent volumes. Iirc this is like volume 5- 6 or so and they have volume 14 available in English. I only read up to volume 9 tho.

UYMAAGEEK

Depending on how this season ends and how long it'll take for a season 3, yall should pick up the light novel

Chideraa Udegbulem

Sheera it’s how many ladies they want and Gokouyou is careful so she has so few but Loulan father keeps asking for more and it’s making Gokouyou look bad for having so little even though she’s the emperor favorite

Read my comment again...."when the first season came out", which was 18 months ago. This was Volume 12, Naturally more volumes have released since then. But if you look at how many chapters they're adapting per episode, we'll be past Volume 14 by the time we hit Episode 24.

The current episodes are covering the end of volume 3 of the light novel, we will most likely go into light novel 4 before the season ends.

Ragnar Pendon

Not Gyokuyo hiring a bunch of Nurse Joys cuz the artists can't be assed to draw em different XD

NovaVortex

Thankfully, no mentions of spirals in these stories 🤣

Krype

Is it just me, or does Loulan look like she's 14? Also, why is she a concubine again? She doesn't seem to fit the emperor's taste?

charlie
>>168130039

its just you. not to mention the show as stated a multitude of times why she is a concubine and so important. her father has massive sway in the empire and with the previous empress and so he's got his hands in a lot of different things and so the emperor has to oblige them to a degree.

Skebaba
>>168130039

AFAIK she's supposed to be about Maomao age (so like 18 or so), and she's not a 100% flattie like Lishua is, either

poisonivybag
>>168130039

It's important to note that Lishu at this point is like 14-15 so she is very much a child.

Gilthwixt
>>168103743

This chapter is literally the beginning Volume 12 and we're already a quarter of the way through....y'all realize I'm talking about the Manga, right? Not the LN.

DANIEL PEREZ
>>168130039

also he is just in case this emperor is like the last one and like em young type of political move was made. what better way to get more power than by having your YOUNG daughter be a concubine and give birth

Diarra

Then I had to pay rent..👻 🤣🤣🤣🤣
