It's so sad Si-eun his mother's always sending him away when he becomes a problem. His mom's apparently really smart i remember last season she was streaming her tutoring sessions? I'm not familiar with Korean culture all that well so I'm not sure if Si-eun's mother is a teacher or gives cram school tutorials. When it comes to k dramas I feel there's a MASSIVE disconnect between the adults and kids that boils down to wilful ignorance. The parents went through the same type of assault but settled whereas "our mc" decided to fight back which isn't the norm in Asian culture. So ultimately the kids have to be the adults, while the adults lay in pity and self neglect and never have a genuine relationship with their kids

This is the reality of many kids under several countries especially east asia, and worldwide, who do not care for the wellbeing of the non-wealthy or the wellbeing of the unique who don’t conform to rules. if you do not have money, you are an outcast, if you do not conform? you are an outcast. Oh to be wealthy and not conform. Si-eun is the embodiment of what many bullied crave to become. Except this is reality. His mom does not care, because she conforms to the rules. She’s a smart woman, but she can’t handle sieun because he doesn’t conform. He’s a trouble maker in her eyes, not someone who is begging for attention by the adults,
