I think it's the Uncle who ordered the hit. Only him and the sister knew the comings and goings of Yang Cheng and Lil Pomelo. He also could ride the his nephews coattails to the top or twist he did it as an act of love for his nephew. Would be interesting if he has been apart of Spotlight the entire time and had a role to play in Yang Chen's parents death.

It’s a stretch but I def think there’s time travel going on and that the mastermind is the old E-Soul (which is literally just himself but older), it explains the constant mask, him being saved as a kid, the “random” kidnapping of the little brother and the caller actually having the same name after all, why they’ve never directly made contact, and why everyone sees so much similarities between the new E-Soul and E-Soul’s early crime fighting days

I think its for the early crime fighting days they probably didnt have youtube ya know shit like that they probably had only the new station just like real life so for you to get your trust value you had to really be in them streets but now as long as you do enough infront of the camera you get a trust value boost
