The predators in this, Predators (2010), The Predator, and Prey are from a different clan that doesn’t believe in the honor stuff that the ones from 1 and 2 do. That’s why they turn invisible whenever they’re losing or take people who kill them instead of giving them a trophy.

Predators have to be the play thing of a higher intelligent species. You can't tell me niggas that only see heat can engineer space ships, master space travel, cryostasis etc. Predators are being given this tech by another species and their entire philosophy/religion was Bene-Gezereted by said species. They're being used as a military arm and collecting samples of species stronger than them to be studied and further engineer that same military arm for their own security. Said higher intelligence probably has mastered cloaking tech, so Predators can't detect them at all. The easiest prey to capture and experiment on. They gave the Predators cloaking tech and a spaceship with a species mantra of finding the strongest beings in the universe and figuring out how to kill the ones that are threats to us (unknowing to them, their masters)

There's little to none on how the Predators (Yautja their actual name) work. What the mojority of the community is speculating is that they're different clans that have their own system on how to hunt. You got the traditional Predators that just go to planets and hunt but when the humans win they receive a gift which we see in Predators 2 with Donald Glover and in AVP with the chick at the end. Now in Predators (2010) with Adrien Brody, we see a different clan of Predators pick up warriors and dump them on a hunting planet. Which even they do win against the predators a bunch of new predators from that clan just continue to hunt them. So basically Predators have bunch of clans that have different traditions. Also I do think they have the tech but they don't use it because they keep it challenging. The reason why the original Predator had the plasma gun was because humans at the time had rocket launchers and miniguns. So they try to keep it fair but not that much if that makes sense.

Time travel didn't make since to me, from the start. If it were time travel, the Predator's tech wouldn't change between the periods that we're shown. Cryo-freeze always made more since. They collect the killers until they are ready to hunt them. Didn't they do something similar in the Predators (2010) movie? Except in that movie those people were probably from the same time period. About the ending, I guess this means they got Danny Glovers character from Predator 2. I wonder, if they did get him, if they let him have the revolver the Predator gave him at the end of Predator 2.

I love this movie so much, it’s such good lore build up. I believe the flintlock was given cause they didn’t know that weapon was not from his time period, assumed that humans are somewhat simple creatures that can all use the same weapon type. Specifically the gun used in Prey by Naru. It was definitely an Easter egg to Prey but the writers also trolling us lmao. Just how Sheera describe about themselves high intelligence, but varying in battle IQ.

I did not know this movie existed, so this was my first watch. I like the multiple background story, but it felt rushed in the last 20 minutes because they spent 90% of the movie telling the background of the main characters. I don't like using this term, but the plot armor, especially in the last fight, was so obvious that I laughed. If they had at least 10 minutes, the pacing would be a bit better. There are other things I have a problem with in the movie, but only minor ones. Fights are cool, tho. I'd give a 7/10.

Predators aren't really on earth out to have a good fight or prove anything, they're there on vacation for a safari hunt. literally just there to fuck with humans in whatever way they find entertaining, with a *general* trend towards combat with similar weapons. like rich people go out to the savannah to kill lions with rifles which isn't any kind of fair fight but they're still endangering themselves, killing for fun, and these poachers get killed once in a while. Preds are also not trying for a fair fight, just to put themselves in reasonable danger with probably 95% chance of winning cuz the ones that head out to other planets for a hunt are thrill seekers. if we want to draw even more comparisons from poachers to predators, look at how dumb they seem sometimes, or just underestimating the prey. its really similar to some arrogant dude underestimating the animals hes out to kill and gets himself eaten.

Great Vid Y’all! To add a tiny bit of lore for better perspective, The predators live as Clans, most Clans go hunting with a code of honor, they kinda nerf themselves with all these rules. But it’s the only way to make things close to being fair for their prey. However, the predator Clan we see at the end are most likely Rogue and dishonorable and don’t follow the rule book. Even going as far as to kidnap people who already proven themselves worthy. This is more evident when they show them blowing up the head of that one predator prisoner.

The flintlock pistol they gave him is a recurring easter egg in Predator lore. They gave it to the cop in the second movie and in the comics they got it from a pirate.

There seems to be a bit of a misunderstanding with how the Predators operate. They purposefully nerf themselves depending on what they're hunting and whether that specific predator has earned certain weaponry. It's not that their tech is getting better over time its just that they're allowed to use better tech as humans get more advanced. They still want the hunt to have some semblance of fairness even if in reality its not all that fair 😂

Not really. They are superior to the humans from the start. Normally they try and keep the fights fair by nerfing themself with less tech. As others pointed out, this is probably a clan similar to the one of "Predators", which was kidnapping warriors to hunt them on their private planet. Note that this Predators are not the norm, in all the lore they are hated by the others for the unfair way of hunting. The classic way is like in the first film, where they go to a plant, fight some warrior and (sometimes) die. That's it.

For the viking chick and the samurai actual centuries have passed since they last saw it, and i'm assuming a decent amount of time has passed since the Pilot was taken too. Different species of predator the one’s you’re talking about are the jungle predators the most honorable. Then there’s the feral predators(seen here and in Prey) and the super predators from 2010 with Adrien Brody. The other 2 species have a very…loose definition of honor
