I loved the opening shot teasing the climax of the episode. CloverWorks is really flexing. Look at all the details of class 1-5! I noticed NPC’s that never caught my attention while reading the manga. Look That shot from the front side angle of the class. All of the characters are so detailed you almost don’t notice Marin is in the frame, I worried about production quality with CW doing three shows this season but so far it’s been nothing but an improvement on the great work of S1. Then the shift to the shojo art style.💯 As usual, the fictional source mixes from several IRL sources. I see elements from Maid-sama, Ouran High School Host Club and Maria Watches Over Us. Each of the cosplay source stories have some bearing on Gojo and Marin's story. Some are metaphors of their state, some foreshadowing. In this arc it is very obvious. Koyomi serves as a metaphor for Gojo and Rei for Marin. Gojo is not feeling worthy yet and Marin is stymied at expressing her feelings in a believable way due to her past antics. Musings by Daenon did a video essay on it ,but I wouldn't watch it if you don't want to be spoiled as it covers the whole manga. If I were forced to make the very hard choice of a favorite arc of the manga, this one we’re starting would be it. You can already see the impact it will have on Gojo's growth and the hints about the direction Marin’s character arc will take.

This season so far has been one big healing session for Gojo. Outside of the cosplay group, he had his insecurities about exposing his fascination for making clothes and decorating to other people but not only does he realize not everyone is going to judge him on it but they would also support him too.

It's really amazing how Gojo watches these shows and can both get invested in the story/characters while also being able to completely break down the outfits. I know he probably watches multiple times for the details, but even his assessment of the characters personality and how that would affect the fabric choices shows his talent. Can't wait to see the class gas him up for this one come pageant time!

All I say about Roshis comment about the creator of My Dress up Darling putting cool ideas for actual shows within the story of My Dress Up Darling. Is something that will be very true later on in the series. As a manga reader who finished the series already. His comment resonates with me because it's how felt reading the Manga. Especially later on in the story when Marin what's to cosplay another certain character from a certain series. I'm being as vague as possible to avoid spoilers. Manga readers will know what I'm referring to.
