This is a long one so feel free to just ignore if you’re not trying to read but I wanted to be faithful in explaining the 2 theories😂😂. There is actually a theory out there now (and happens to also be slightly related to the comment I had on episode 6 that I didn’t think would happen). So some believe that the airpod tracker will lead Batista to Prater and after looking Prater up he will see he has a flawless reputation with law enforcement across the board and will go to warn him believing he may be his next victim or thinks he could help catch Dexter with his connections. Leading to Prater looking Dexter up and seeing his connections to the Bay Harbor Butcher case realizing that Dexter has been taking out his killer guests and had actually already killed “The Dark Passenger” before he met him in person. Instead of being mad he agrees/is interested with Dexters methods and decides to treasure him and makes Charlie kill Batista to protect Dexter. He would also see he was linked to Trinity through Rita and her death likely also discovering Harrison as well. Also another theory out there is to who the New York Ripper is and some claim it may be (I am convinced also) that it could be Trinity’s abused son Jonah. When we last saw him it was season 6 around 13-15 years prior to current Dexter and Jonah was first seen showing a customer (at a hardware store) how to use a hook and even tried to kill Dexter with a hook later that episode because he wanted to kill Trinity himself and Dexter discovered he lied about how his mom and sister died. He admits his sister ended her own life (similar to Trinity’s sister) because their mother kept blaming them for Arthur and his disappearance and everything he did as the Trinity killer. So Jonah killed his mom (with a hockey stick) out of revenge for his sister (giving him a similar upbringing to Trinity) claiming “I am my fathers son”. Jonah was blaming himself for his sisters death because he didn’t get her out of that house soon enough before she ended her life. When asking how he’s supposed to live with it before Dexter left he tells him “forgive yourself” and left him alone leaving back for Miami. The weapon of the New York Ripper is a hook but long like a hockey stick and as we learn in this episode he makes the family of his victims feel guilty and the bodies of the victims themselves are abusively ripped open and despite the voicemail recording not sounding like him, it sounds more like the killers voice from SCREAM on the phone, so he could be hiding his real voice.
