The emotional toll this had on Yoshiki that he planned a murder/ suicide is so sad.

The sounds of Hikaru taking out that piece of bone is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever heard…. since he found hikaru’s body in mountains he has spiralled into despair and things just keep getting darker and darker. I think about og hikaru’s last wish for this creature to take over his body so he can stay by his loved ones side was the worst thing possible, even tho it was done with the best intentions…his mum -she lost her husband to the mountains finding she lost her son 2 would break her, she is temporarily spared from pain thanks to Hiraku. Yoshiki however has no privilege of being blissfully ignorant…he has been robbed of grief, his psyche is irreparably damaged and he can never move on in a healthy way due to Hikaru’s presence. The last wish is causing one of his loved one’s immense pain and suffering, has caused someone’s loved one to die, almost killed a friend - i can only imagine what spirit hikaru is feeling watching this unfold if he hasn’t crossed over.

I've been a manga reader since the beginning.. I've waited for it to get animated for yearsss and I can't believe this is already the end of the first arc. "Daily life" arc came to an end so beautifully.. now it's time for some mystery solving and more spooky stuff for the second half of the season.. 👻🕵🏻‍♂️ Some interesting info: In the final scenes of this episode, "Hikaru" is sitting above Yoshiki - being a superior being to him, yet he gives up part of his power to be on a similar lvl. This scene literally looks like a reverse marriage proposal.. and Yoshiki accepts it. The bone that "Hikaru" breaks is named after a sword🗡️ - he literally breaks his own sword to be a lesser threat. Then you can see the light - separation (like Sheera noticed) disappearing and Yoshiki getting "consumed" - this is the moment where "Hikaru" becomes his whole life, his ride or die (like Roshi said).. They fully accept eachother. There's not going back now. //// The whole choir competition and practice was anime original, it wasn't in the manga at all. It added so much the atmosphere of the story, it's crazy. Also "Hikaru" and Yoshiki were singing a duet in the credits. /// The reason why Yoshiki's sister doesn't go to school is because her best friend moved away and now she has a lot of anxiety. The mom is so understanding about it because she's from Tokio, so she's more open minded than most of the village people. That's also why most people don't like the mom. (This is info from the ligh novel)

Maybe it's just me, but for me...this episode was a masterpiece. I truly loved everything about it, the musical score, animation, direction, everything. The end credits were the icing on the cake. Love this show.

Denying the urge to straight up read the manga RIGHT NOW.

Aww, the YoshiKaru duet was another victim of skipping the ED 😞

YoshiKaru my toxic yaoi bfs for the year, this show has me in such a chokehold. Also Sheera immediately “Uh oh”‘ing when Yoshiki laughed, YEEAAAHH somethin’s up

Ok. So it’s not like Asako doesn’t remember anything, she just doesn’t know anything. It was a big misunderstanding. She thinks there’s a spirit latching on Hikaru (she can hear things but can’t see things) but she herself doesn’t know Hikaru was dead and something took over his body. She doesn’t know that “Hikaru” almost offed her either 😂 she thinks she passed out because she’s tired

Honestly, never in my life had a song ever gotten tears out of me til this one and damn what a way to show that Yoshiki and 'Hikaru' "mixed" by that freaky imagery followed by that really sweet duet of the song at the end. I feel bad for both them boys. All they want is just to be together but something as simple as that is a hazard to themselves and everyone around them.

Isaac

I'm sorta hoping that middle aged lady can guide Yoshiki on this matter now. Since she 'mixed' with her late 'husband' she clearly went through a lot so maybe that now Yoshiki crossed the line mixing with Hikaru she could atleast tell him a little more on what to expect and what signs too look out for. Hell, maybe he has powers now out of this like she does since she can exercise spirits.

Apparently the part of the sternum “Hikaru” broke off is called the xiphoid procress, and which is derived from the greek word xiphos (which translates to “straight sword”, and the bone is named that because it looks like the tip of a sword). So “Hikaru” in a sense broke his “sword” for Yoshiki. And as others have mentioned, Asako remembers asking Hikaru her “who are you” question, but she doesn’t really remember him trying to kill her, she just thinks she fainted. And she currently just think a spirit is possessing/is attached to Hikaru, she still hasn’t realized the original Hikaru died. There was also some sad bittersweet symbolism with the song in the episode, the fact that the choir only started sounding good once Yoshiki and “Hikaru” were absent could arguably represent how the two of them are both ostracized from the rural Japan countryside life. Yoshiki being in the closet and “Hikaru” being a literal non-human entity.

2:49 I don't know if you guys caught it, but what Hikaru tried to do to Asako may have negatively affected her. You see, in class, her friend came up to her, and she didn't hear her. Asako may have lost that hearing ability of hers, which is bad considering how many times she's saved her friend using that ability.

Looking at that choir crowd is a reminder of just how homogenous a lot of places in Japan are.

lupa “you and me, me and you” got me DYING 😂

Yoshiki: am I my brother’s keeper? Hikaru: aye man! WE ALL WE GOT!

ViralCorgi

3:14 Bruh demonized Hikaru literally made her deaf in one ear ☹️ I mean that's better than dead but that sucks, especially given her only way of protecting herself against these things is her ability to hear them.

ViralCorgi

Yoshiki said "That's mine and i'm gonna stick beside him" 😭 💀 😂 No, but seriously, we’ve made it to the point where Yoshiki can’t play dumb anymore. No more pretending this thing is Hikaru, and no more pretending that this thing is something you can mold into being human. He’s no longer ignorant to what Demon Hikaru is capable of and is aware he’ll have to deal with sharing the mental and emotional load of whatever wrong he does next. There’s no going back...

speedy

the mixing and giving him a literal part of him self feels like a contract was being made 😭😭

Mariama Sillah

bruh i just realized that Master + Master is supposed to be Hunter x Hunter and Ron is Gon

Majority of the world's countries are homogenous. USA, Canada, and UK are the only ones with diversity. The rest of western Europe will be too with all the mass illegal immigration

Ekko08

The ending was so bittersweet. On one hand "Yay no-one died, " and Hikaru gave a piece of himself to Yoshiki (cute) in a way creating a pact. But on the other Yoshiki and Hikaru have finally mixed
