Loved the season, and stuff, but ngl this felt like one of the bottom 3 episodes of the season (which says how good the rest of the season was) because of all the hoops and shit they had to jump through this episode to get to the ending😅. For some reason Dexter nowadays can't fully nail a finale🤷‍♂️. Biggest sign of it to me was Harrison being hired as a waiter for a high end NY party, and is allowed to go on the floor with an AirPod in his ear and a phone in his shirt pocket with the camera pointed directly at guests🤦‍♂️. That just would never happen even in a comedy tbh, let alone irl or in a drama

Yeah i can respect that response, I honestly felt the same thing when I saw him put his phone in his shirt pocket and had airpods. Plus his friend putting a bad rap on weed smoking and doing nothing on his shift.

First off I thought Brian would show up next season not this season so I’m really happy about that and it’s fitting Dexter throws a chainsaw of all things at him and goes away so I hope he returns more often next season. I remembered a random fact that Harrison (just like Rita did) works at a hotel. Also a cool thing I noticed is the name of the boat Dexter uses to dispose of Prater is called “The Getaway” (as Roshi pointed out) which is the name of the last episode of season 4 where Rita dies and Trinity almost escaped before Dexter gets him not knowing he killed her already. Similar to how in original sin Camilla having the slice of pie boat and Dexter helping her end her life with a drugged slice of the “perfect” Keylime pie in season 3. I also don’t actually think Don Framt is the name of the New York Ripper, and potentially an anagram (such as Dr Fantom) or a fake name with not necessarily reliable information inside the files however I could end up wrong in the future. I believe the ripper may have done something similar to Dexter and managed to hide his/her true Identity from Prater only telling him he/she is the ripper except they were successful where Dexter wasn’t because of Batista. An argument for the Jonah theory is that he’s been given different names through witness protection so that could be one of them but I’m beginning to stray from that theory of it being Jonah. I think Quinn confused by that phone call from NYPD and the death of Batista will go to New York and find out through Claudette that Dexter is alive with his son repeating what he did in season 5 of the original show however believing Dexter is behind the death of Batista. Or Claudette could realize that Prater fit the Bay Harbor Butcher MO and believe Batista died trying to warn him along with the butcher slides missing but the name of the killer still being on the display causing her to look further into it with potentially the help of Quinn and Masuka? (But I doubt it) I love that both of Dexter’s kills on Brian‘s bleed table didn’t get taken as a trophy with the first being one he could never forget, and the second being one he wants to forget. I also can see Prater as a reflection of us the viewer being a people interested enough to watch and learn about a serial killer and maintain interest (for some people over a decade and a half). Even if it’s just a show to us (point being we watch and root for a guy who murders people but justify it by saying only bad people even though he’s still a murderer). I like how it ended similar to season 1 of the original as well with Dexter getting this idea that he is Justice and the world wants him to be who he is. The most random out of nowhere crazy theory I have right now with nothing to back it for later next season or season 3 is that Elsa will get killed by the Ripper (who returns due to the disappearance of Prater or Claudette closing in on him/her) and Harrison will walk in on Elsa’s son by her ripped open dead body. Reminding him of what happened to himself and Dexter but of course that’s some random out of nowhere theory for a season far into the future. The one thing sitting in the back of my mind is that in season 6 the tooth fairy killer kills again after 10 years (like Dexter) because he was sick of staring at a box of teeth and after being caught asks Dexter “when you can’t do this anymore what will you have then”. Going further into how he’s worse at killing as effectively because of his age and how it’s ultimately all he had regardless of having a son, explaining what retirement for a killer is like and how Dexter is “the same kind of sick F”. Also the age old memes of Doakes being the Bay Harbor Butcher (a soldier as a serial killer) has me thinking they might meme the viewer. What if Charley’s mom is the ripper (or someone elderly) and because she can’t physically kill anymore she calls and harasses the victims of her kills. Perhaps her mom talking about Charley’s students in the end could be code for the killer club? However I doubt that’s the case cause they lived elsewhere but I figured I would share the thought. Final thing is I would love to see 1 more season of original sin introducing Doakes and the drug bust that made Maria Lieutenant. Also showing not just the kill that made Harry end his life but the moments leading to it and the moment itself so I truly hope they bring it back from cancelation. Mostly because all we get is the kill that caused it in the original show and the knowledge he ended his own life and that’s it so it would be interesting to see how he was handling it. Watching him progressively falling further and further into his guilt while Dexter is improving and getting better and better at being a killer. Possibly even having Harry visit a younger Dr. Vogel (who maybe even references Saxon?🤷‍♂️) for how to accept it or move on from it ultimately being unable to unlike Deb who could. Anyway, I loved the season and can’t wait for season 2 also sorry for my book of a comment but GG if you read it all😂😂👍. Edit: also remembered Brians smile slide is in the slide box Dexter took.

I thought about it last episode but I wanted to wait for the finale to confirm but what happened to Elisa and her kid? Was that whole story dropped? Once Harrison started fucking GiGi we haven't seen him simping after Elisa at all. No more baby sitting, cooking, cleaning, or potentially catching landlord bodies for her or her son. I don't know how old Elisa's supposed to be she seems older way more mature. Probably because she has a kid so she has her priorities straight. I could've completely misread the situation but it felt she also kind of treated Harrison like a litte kid. I don't think she ever once looked at him like a Sexual partner.

I liked the season overall, but feel like they missed what could have been an extra fun moment of Dexter telling Prater about his connection to The Ice Truck Killer and that he killed other infamous serial killers, like Trinity. Was also amused by Roshi’s insistence that the main detectives partner was the NY Ripper. I was with ya up to the Staying Alive dance. Glad the show is renewed, Dexter is probably my all time favorite tv character.

This may be an unpopular comment, but I think Dexter should head back to the West Coast. Seems he successfully avoided near misses with authorities vibing with lumberjacks in Oregon. 😜

He took the bag of another killer to store his items and I think something else from another killer but I believe the entire Bay Harbor Butcher stand is missing yet the description for that stand is still there (being James Doakes Bay Harbor Butcher). Which makes me believe that the New York ripper was intended for a link for Claudia to discover that Batista might not have been crazy. However at the same time it strikes me the complete opposite way because it could appear Prater just left to inevitably never return unless of course they see the shot in the ceiling just outside the vault (from Harrison hitting him with the M99 emphasizing a clear struggle). Also I think the ripper’s name (Don Framt) on the file might be a fake name or an anagram such as Dr Fantom or something else but we won’t know till we know unfortunately.

This could be a reach but, Yeah, that random guy could be the NY Ripper, however. Dexter showed that Prater and Charley’s system wasn’t perfect, the Ripper could be as good as Dexter (or better since he never got caught) so it’s at least possible that he tricked Prater too. Not to mention, we have no reason to think that Prater knew about the Gemini Killer being twins. I feel like that’s something he would show off if he knew.

They may not acknowledge it , but aside from the Bay Harbor Butcher trophies being the only ones missing, I'm pretty sure the first thing police would do is check Batista's phone records, leading to Harrison

i dont think that will come into play. for everything dex did to not have his prints in that room the finale gave the feeling that nothing from that area will tie back to him bc his prints are also on the boat that would be missing when prater would be "on the run" and i doubt that comes up either. that would be a really weird and lazy (imo) oversight if they intended to make that a point in the next season and i dont believe the show will push that at all
