Been waiting for this one. The horror & portrayal of grief in the show is really well done, but when I first started reading/watching, I wasn't super into the mystery. Once the lore started rolling in, though, I was immediately hooked. They're building it up so well.

I think it might've been saying the shrine glasses guy stomped out to summon that bell ghost was the same as the traveling monk the village killed. Pretty cool to see them explain why that little shrine was there.

The creature in the forest and the one in the diner remind me of a Rokurokubi and a Nukekubi respectively. They're supposedly yokai that can stretch their necks to crazy lengths, or in the Nukekubi's case remove it entirely and have it float around.
