the prevailing theory is that cipher is the dude in the tank (probably thomas godolkin) using his mind control abilities to puppet the body we see him with (a normal human, which is why there's no V) i also think, just like how neuman was marie's power taken to the next level, cipher is cate's power taken to the next level and we're gonna see her do the same thing as him by the end of the season

Pretty sure that's Godolkin in the tank. We saw him in that fire in the lab in the first episode. He didn't inject himself like those other guys but the V probably got on him during the fire and gave him mind control powers and hes controlling Cipher from inside the tank which is insane because hes a very good distance away from the school and waa able to control both Cipher and Jordan at the same time. Peep how Cipher kept referring to people as puppets and meat suits, and just bags of blood. Because thats what human bodies are to him, meat puppets for him to control. Cipher I think is probably a relative of Godolkin, maybe his son like he said who happens to be human and is letting him use his body. So when he said "I saw you" I don't think he meant cameras, i think the cameras was a lie. I think he quite literally saw them cuz hes the old man in tank and opened his eyes. Also, I suspect Marie might be able to manipulate blood enough to give people power WITHOUT needing compound V. If she can manipulate blood on a molecular level she could literally just rewrite someone's DNA and create powers without needing another substance like V, that's why he said the school was created to produce her: a supe who can create super powers from inside the body

I think Cipher's "father" has the power to control people. I think he's controlling the body of the Cipher and can control other people. I don't know if there's a time limit to the power. I think the reason he left Jordan was because Marie's power either knocked him out of Jordan or he felt that Jordan was close to dying.

Because they haven't shown Thomas Godkin's body from the previous episode and if I remember correctly, Marie's Aunt say in the photo as she was showing Marie , saying that that was Dr Gold who was holding her. So what I think is that Cipher and the person in tube is thomas godkin and they might be possibly related or the person in the tube is using Cipher as a mind control vessel.

i have a theory, i think ciphers dad might be Thomas. remember ep 1 when the scientist died/burnt in the lab, maybe he got some V in him them which lets him puppet people but he cant use his own body which is why he's using cipher hence why he doesn't have v. I think Marie really is a Blood Bender, in the ATLA sense. Kinda like Amon in Legend of Korra, since compound V is what gives dupes their powers and compound V is in the blood, she could probably take away someone’s powers. Ok what I got from that ending is basically Cipher wants Marie to get strong enough to fix the burnt body so that he can transfer back into his original body and the current cipher is basically a meat puppet hence why when he stabbed himself in the hand he said you have no idea what you’re dealing w. Someone else mentioned it, but it's possible the Cipher we see walking around is just a human meat puppet the real Cipher is controlling. He said it was his dad, but it's probably him. The reason he could only control Jordon for a little bit is he's already expending a bunch of effort controlling the Human Cipher. Marie can't detect the V in his blood cause it's just a human puppet. It's also why Cate can't read his thoughts. He knew Cate was in his house cause he saw her, it wasn't cameras.

My theory is that Cipher has the same blood bending powers as Marie, he just has complete control over it to the point where he can completely control someone's body, kinda like ATLA but to the extreme. The way he talks about Her powers throughout the episodes, it's like he has experience. That's why he asked her if she knew just how her powers work.
